Asa shrugged. "Couldn't. The text message to Tombs had my name on it so he would know who it was. Telling needless lies would only have implicated me in something. As far as using Tomb's name, well," he grinned, "that's a 'street name'."

"What the hell does that have to do with anything? You could have told them, "yes I know where he works, here is the number", given them my number and then told me about it when you hung up with them."
She shakes her head and sighs. "So, now we have nothing but the suspiscion that Tombs is dead or a suspect? Who do we know that has an in with the cops?"

Asa gave Bella a questioning look. "Bella, he didn't even know Tombs' name. As his 'boss', are you ready to answer that? Or give his address? Or Social Security number? I gave him nothing he didn't already probably know; that I know Tombs, that I have a reason to contact Tombs, and that Tombs likes motorcycles."
Pulling out his phone, he began sending a text. "And now I'll ask a 'friend' to get me the good Detective's file on Tombs. Should I have handled it differently?" He looks up from his phone with honest curiosity.

Bella chuckles and moves to put her arm around Asa's shoulders, but stops herself. She learned to be a bit on the touchy feely side while helping Jace to learn to do the same. But, she sometimes forgets that not everyone is that way.
Standing there, looking a little lost as to what to do with her hands, she shoves them into her pockets.
"Asa, my friend, lying is an art. If you can tell a lie in a convincing enough manner, they will believe you. It is all about the presentation, itoshii-er-ami."

Asa grinned, and returned to texting, as he spoke. "No argument, we'll do it your way next time."
After a bout of texting, Asa looks up with a smile. "Tombs is in the morgue. Got shot in the head with a .50 cal pistol. Shall we?"

Bella frowns at Elle. "Yeah, thanks but Nic is with me, per the Cardinal's orders. Asa, if you want to go with her thats fine, or she can ride with one of us. Umm, where is the morgue anyway?" She asks as she tosses the keys of her obviously not as hot car to Nicolo.

"Oh, she can ride with the two of you," Asa turns back to his car before they see the laughter in his eyes.
"Or follow in her own car. I doubt she wants to leave it here in this part of town. I'll look up the morgue on my nav and everyone can follow," he says as he gets into his car.

I just thought he might like to ride in something from his homeland, not....that... she eyes Bella's car contemptuously, then glares at Asa.
So be it then. she waves a hand, clicking off in knee high boots and arriving just moments later, tires squealing as she roars around the corner, the Sang Noir purring ominously as she idles, waiting for them to get in their cars.
