The Circle of Creation is the gathering hub for all Pentacle mages in the Sacramento Concilium, with chapter houses for all five Orders inside.
Located east of Sacramento and far outside the prying eyes of the inner city, the Circle of Creation awaits the mages of Sacramento. Despite being a replica of the Westminster Abbey, the sleepers who come by never seem to notice it. The wards built into the structure have made sure of this. To all but the Pentacle the Circle is essentially invisible, ensuring the safety of those who enter and engage with one another. Whether it had always been here for the Awakened was hard to say now, but it was the site that the Awakened gather to mingle and discuss official matters.
It is a time for simply for mingling among the Awakened. The common area is large and open, but over the course of the month it's inevitable that people may bump into each other. The official concerns of the Consilium are put on hold as a more lighthearted experience is shared among this community of the Wise. Ultimately, this is the opportunity to let the proverbial hair down. How much so is up to them.
This is the opening post for Sanctuary. Please read this for information on Sanctuary, Consilium, and the difference the two. Come here to be recognized!
Also a reminder, Sanctuary threads are not official Consilium threads. Those under an incarceration sentence may not attend a Sanctuary thread.
Sancturary is not a single event, or formal Consilium. It's a compression of time to represent the comings, goings, and intersections of Awakened throughout the month at the Cirlce.
Campanella has arrived early this month.
The Circle is quiet and the yawning silence is peaceful. The vaulted space is dim compared to the bright, sunny, day outside. The air is cool with a slight edge - the nascent heat of the ripening year is left at the ornate wooden door, along with the light and the echoing sounds of humanity. The Sanctuary is well named for it offers respite, both physical, spiritual, and metaphysical, from a Fallen World. Campanella is both Mystogogue and Moros: he digs this place and its long, echoing, silence.
A few months before, he would have filled that silence with quiet chanting and the scent of burning incense.
Now - he sighs - he simply walks to the same seat he had taken in the previous month. From under an arm he retrieves a newspaper (yes, honest to goodness, a solid and physical object of the printed word) and settles down to read.
Two glyph's hang in his aura: slick and grey rote spells. Campanella does not tread the halls of Consilium confidently anymore.

Coming in from the chambers of the Silver Ladder, Naga was less formally dressed this time, though her clothing was still stylish. A black leather briefcase was in hand, as was a still-steaming Starbucks coffee cup. Stopping at the entryway, she looked over the meeting room briefly. Her eyes were naturally drawn to the sole occupant.
A smile and a nod were given, "Good day, Master Campanella. I hope you're doing well."
Not wishing to disturb the Moros' newspaper time any further than that, Naga moved to a seat in the 'Mastigos section.' There, she removed a yellow legal pad and a pen and started quietly scribbling some notes. Occasionally, she would pause to sip her latte or whatever it was she had bought.
Still not mentally recovered from the last meeting, but knowing she had to attend, she walks in from the Arrow wing. The whole move thing was still in progress.
One might thing she was trying to dress nice for the meeting, but that wasn’t really the case. She just loved the jacket and it really only looked good with the pants.
With a water bottle in hand, and maybe a flask tucked into a pocket, she smiles in greeting to Campanella and Naga. Finding a seat off to the side, a good place to see and been seen, but not be center of attention. The disconnect she had been feeling since the previous meeting was strong, and she was content to just sit in the quiet.
Briar Rose shows up, eventually. Still sooner then the masses though. If there were masses of Magi. Which. Not...really... She'd passed by bigger Consiliums in more podunk towns, and this was the state capitol.
Whatever.
She's wearing a green jacket this time. Lighter then leather, easier to breathe, and with the weather changing...she might have gone with, y'know. Not a jacket, but Kaze knew the kanji on her arms, and what they meant.
Dude was cool with one, but the other. She didn't want to hear anyone else nattering away at that.
Not that she thought the Obrimos would be here, today. Because of. Well. Doing Hard Time. But she didn't know he wasn't, not, gonna be here either.
Better safe and unbothered.
"What up, fuckers?" comes her voice before her brain can catch up. Eh, whatever.
She waves.

Arriving from the arrow wings, recently out of the shower wearing her standard clothing, she didn't really own many outfits and even if she had acquired some new ones so were they mostly ones for training and sleeping in.
She had however chosen not to wear her archery glove at least, whilst missing it so was it best to not wear it here after all.
She had come prepared though with spells she normally rarely used up, she really didn't have much interest in the politics but better to attend and learn how things are run than to just stay out of it at least.
Calmly walking in, looking around to see the people around here, making a mental note of their appearance before just calmly starting to walk around and inspect the area overall.

Guru wasn’t exactly one for politics, he’d always tried to keep his head down and nose clean even when he WAS breaking the Law. He didn’t know what the dress code was but knew first impressions were important so he showed up like he might before a meeting though only a little less formal. He showed up wearing a white button up shirt, black tie, with pants and shoes to match.
It all pulled at his skin, it felt wrong, and it constantly felt like he was about to burst out of it. His hair still spilled over and curled about beneath his ears. No Hat, no glasses, pupils a normal sized though having come prepared just in case this shit got boring. He didn’t leave home without his messenger bag full of goodies.
He brought two fingers to his forehead and gave the room a salute before he went and sat pretty much anywhere just as far in the back as he could like it’d stop anyone from paying attention to him. He sat his bag on the table within reach and leaned back in his seat.
“Oh, uh, hey. Hello. I’m Guru, kinda new here but its super nice to meet everyone. Anyone want like, an apple or like, some trail mix?”
That goofy smile on his face as he really couldn’t help but fidget in his seat.
The councilor of Pandemonium is the next to arrive. In a plain white long sleeve T and jeans he wasn't exactly dressed to impress. Not that he ever was. How many councilors came to official gatherings in camo again? Probably not important, or at least important to anyone else.
Today the student was all smiles. News flash? Today is yesterdays tomorrow, and tomorrow? That's all about new beginnings. He was learning, watching, growing. He knew who in the community he had a real interest in getting to know and who got a smile and a nod. It's good. Mostly. This right here? It's forgiveness, but forgiveness is not the same as forgetfulness.
"Hey folks."
He's waving to the group, though his attention is pretty clearly on Briar Rose and Guru. Also Campanella and Naga, though they seemed to be enveloped in reading material.
At last the Moros shifts in his seat, closes and folds his paper. Craning his neck, he takes stock of who has turned up.
He breaks into a genuine smile and waves at Briar Rose
"Indeed. How are you, Magus Naga ?" The smile lingers as he speaks.
Aurora receives a deep nod of respect. Pixel receives an incline of the head. "Councillor." Could have been aimed at any of them.
"Actually. Yes. Can you spare an apple?" Stashing his newspaper on his seat, Campanella rose and approached Guru
Skye receives a curious look - tracking her movements as he crosses the space to reach the Thrysus.
"I'm quite well, thank you, Master Campanella." She nodded as she looked up from her writings, showing appreciation for the attention.
She smiled towards the Thyrsus Councilor as she arrived, "Master Aurora, good to see you."
"Councilor Pixel," she gave a nod to her Path representative.
"Magus Guru, Magus Skye, and Magus... Briar, was it?" She asked of the Pink-Haired Female Shaman.
The Apostate one.
Naga looked silently between both women. Curious. Was this a hairstyle common among Thyrsus?
Guru and Aurora were both blonde, so who knew?
