It starts slowly, a trickle, "Ha. Ha. Aha. Ahaha." It quickly builds, the tension of the past weeks, the rage, the confusion, the desperation, like a torrent against a dam, and soon the cracks become fissures, and finally the levees burst. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, oh, AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!" Every dead muscle contracts with the mad laughter of the masked man behind the desk. Slapping his thigh, shoulders heaving, smashing his feet upon the desk, spinning around in his chair as Heathcliff laughs, and laughs, and laughs...
This goes on for several minutes.
It ends, as all things do, the last minute spent regaining his composure and control of his cursed voice. "Oh. Haha. My word. Haha. I say, you are better than my last jester," the Seneschal manages. "Did you really 'tsk tsk' me? Oh, how delightful. Ahahahaha. Yes. Well then, Tyler. Honesty does have its place within the Danse, certainly." And suddenly, the mirth is replaced by an eerie calm, as he says with a voice cold as ice, "As does allowing your betters to save face, both in not asking loaded questions such as 'I assume you know this-or-that,' and in allowing them their pride by not calling out a bald faced lie meant to keep such." He leans across the desk so his face is closer to the Daeva's own. "You do realize, Tyler, that I am the Prince's Seneschal? That when you speak to me, you are speaking to his Majesty, Prince Clarke, and when I speak in his absence, I speak for him, on his behalf? You should take much greater care to whom you address your holier-than-thou speeches of 'honesty,' which, incidentally, is not the same as 'morality'."
Heathcliff draws back suddenly. "But you do amuse me, Tyler Stone. Oh, indeed. You have read our Laws, you have studied our Domains, you are Acknowledged." He quickly scribbles down the names and contact information for Twist, his Priscus, and Joseph Hartmann, the leader of the Dracul, and slides the paper across the desk to him. "You can reach the Daeva and the Dragons through those channels. Your request to expand your business within the Prince's Domain is denied. Perhaps, after you prove your worth and loyalty to his Majesty, we will review your petition again. Now get the hell out of my office. Aha. Ahahahaha."
It's a shame I returned Martha's cane, the Bishop thought, for now I know exactly what to do with it.

Victoria walked ahead of Conner into her office. The office was richly appointed and near the far back of the room sat a large desk with two chairs facing it. The front half of the room near the door had several couches and lounges along with a padded table for more personal and friendly conversation.
The Harpy walked past the lounging area strait to her desk and sat down. As she turned to face Conner she gestured to the two chairs sitting in front of the desk and spoke, "Please have a seat. What did you wish to speak about?"
"Thank you Harpy Stamford," Conner said and placed the box on the desk in front of her. If the Harpy looks close enough she may see that Conner is indeed wearing the choker that she sent him with a silver chain hanging down off of it to add weight to it. "I wanted to apologize for my offense. It seems I was overzealous in my actions the other night. I felt it only fitting that I humbly offer you this gift as an apology."

Once the bow and wrapping paper is removed the Harpy will find a Mahogany Box. Inside the box she will find a artfully made dagger. "I do hope it is to your liking."

Victoria was unable to mask her surprise completely when she opened the box. Closing the box gently and regaining her composure she looked up to Conner then placed her hands on the desk interlacing her fingers in front of her and sighed.
"Mister Greyson, let me ask you three simple questions. The Avalon Underground is Elysium, correct? A dagger is a weapon is it not? So what is a weapon doing in my office?" Victoria sighed again rubbing her fingers over the bridge of her nose.
"Is that brain of yours just for show or what? Now against my better judgement I might be willing to overlook this offense say if a boon were to be offered."
Best be blunt with this one, subtly may be lost.
"What do you propose?" Conner said again being reminded why he hates Ventrue.
Zeren enters the Court. The confused look as well as the characteristics of his face, gave away the fact that this Kindred was new to these lands. Indeed, in a strange and foreign accent he spoke to the first person he met inside the court "Excuse me, but I have come here to present myself to the Seneschal of the city. I believe that he has been informed of my presence in the city and is expecting me".

Victoria looked him over and back down to the knife case. It really was a nice looking piece and had he given it to her somewhere else then she would have been far more pleased with it. Finally she answered him.
"Because I believe you meant well and the dagger is nice, I'll settle for a Minor Boon. If you agree, I'll consider both matters behind us and I will not mention this again. Just be mindful in the future."
"Thank you Harpy Stamford," Conner said standing and bowing to the Ventrue. "I am thankful of your understanding and forgiveness. Is there anything you need of me now?" Conner asked not wanting to take any more of the woman's time.
Conner hated himself...

Shaking her head she answered, "I have nothing further. If you have nothing further you wished to discuss then you are free to go if that is what you wish."
