Jack somehow manages not to roll his eyes at Juno's reply, taking a sip of his fresh drink to hide his expression.
Christ, what a drama queen... get over yourself. By the way... 'Thank you Jack, how nice of you to buy me a drink. My pleasure, Juno.' Bitch. Well, I tried...
Keeping his thoughts to himself, Jack gives her a noncommittal shrug as he turns his attention back to their newest companion. Simon will undoubtedly notice that something behind him soon catches the Spring Courtier's attention, since the good doctor's gaze keeps wandering over his fellow Wizened's shoulder as he speaks.
"I had the crawfish etouffee... it was amazing. Everything was... delicious. I suppose the owner's a Flowering Fairest? I mean... that would explain the garden. Yes, interesting... very beautiful."
Nyssa had been slightly distracted, watching the game. She looked up just in time to see Alcee's gesture and quietly excused herself as the slight woman took a step out onto the yard. The flowering Fairest was really quite impressed with the set up.

Alice frowned once again as her hand came up without the required four of a kind. She watched the others and the spoons waiting to see if she would need to react.

As she placed her hand back down on the table, unsatisfied, Gianna looked to both Neil and Alice.
"I assume you are both friends again?"
No luck

Alice looked over to Nightfall and smiled up at him, "I think so. There was a rough patch, but I think we worked through it. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, just making sure," Gianna replied with a twinkle behind those large spectacles. "I have got something riding on the two of you is all. What have you got, Neil?" she says in one smooth breath.

"It is pretty, yes. It's very obvious that he's put a lot of work into making this place into something very attractive and special." Whether or not the doctor was directly addressing her, Juno didn't know or really care. It was just another conversational hook, and one deserving of a response based on the property owner's merit-worthy attempts at creating something nice.
"Now, if he can keep it up beyond the first night's flair, he may well have something that's gold. I wish him well with it."
Looking over at the doctor and his companion, she shook her head slightly. The whole non-reaction puzzled her. Maybe she had thrown him into confusion with that revelation and he didn't know how to react....or he was one of Alice's supporters and sent to gather information on her.
And wouldn't you know it but I have to pee. Don't think I'll make it home, so I'm sure they won't mind if I make a quick visit before I leave.
Getting up from the table, she began to walk towards the restroom, but not before she looked over her shoulder with a telling glance. Her attitude may have said one thing, but her body language conveyed quite another message altogether.
It was a quick glimpse, but just enough to get past the Manticoress' cold demeanor. The monster was lonely and the pain which worked in tandem with that emotion was starting to wear her down.
Then just as suddenly the mask slipped back into place and she walked away.
