"Research first, probably, then think about calling for help I think. If we can get some idea of what we're dealing with we'll have a better idea of who would be good to call on for help. Or if we even need it. This thing could be so simple as pushing a stone out of a circle." From Rick's tone, it didn't sound like he actually thought it would be nearly that easy. But still...it was a possibility.

"So okay then, let's get cracking on the research." And that...is just what he did. He took in the information that Green and Morgan forwarded him, using it to guide his own search. Local forums, local subreddits, local blogs...there was a wealth of information to be found if you knew where to look. Too much, really. Most of it was trash, worthless musings that would lead to nothing but dead ends. But...there were bits of truth hidden amongst it. And if he could suss that out, tug at those strings, see where they went...he might just figure out something worthwhile.

Most of a day later, after nine hours of digging up data and summarizing it, comparing notes and collating the finds, the three Lost find some very interesting things. Most notably is that there is a rich tradition of folklore surrounding this neighborhood, or more notably, the land upon which it sits. It seems that it was a rather important location for the native peoples of the region, as it was always a place where water and bountiful growth could be found. However, no group actually settled there...

There are different theories on why this was, the most prominently accepted version being a sort of play off of game theory, that suggests the different groups in the are all collectively agreed that no one group could settle there because then all of the other groups would want to take it from them, and so to avoid war and struggle, the area was instead turned into a location for pilgrimage rather than a settlement. Such a theory was made by modern academics, however. The myths of the native peoples told a very different story.

To the native peoples of the Sacramento region, the land upon which they stood was a gathering place of Coyote and other totems of great power. But, more importantly, it was a place that was settled by humans. Humans that could disappear suddenly, and who, sometimes, made travelers disappear with them...

Most importantly, however, the current Sacramento Lost found references to myths of standing stones...stones that still stood in a small park at the center of the neighborhood.

"So...heh, from the sounds of it the, heh, these stones in the little park art an entrance, she tapped the the image on her phone: a shot taken from a local newspaper's website. There was something else that made Morgan tilt her head in thought.

People settled already that could vanish or make others vanish? Add in Coyote the trickster, whom Morgan felt had serious analogs to Irish fairies and the fae occurences now. It sounded like an old Freehold to Morgan. "Uh, Rick? Green? Doth either of ye ken if there twas a, heh, 'hold here a'fore Sacramento twas built? This disappearing folks thing does kinda, heh, sound like changelings or at, heh, least fae, business. Don't ye think?"

"There. We start there." Green grunted.

In reply to Morgan, he simply shrugs. "No idea. I never did learn much about the place before I came. More interested in the here and now, I guess. Besides, I thought that kind of history was your Court's thing?"

He ran a hand along his solid jaw.

"So we got a place to start looking. I say we get going. You wanna round up anyone else for this next trip?"

Upset over the sudden revelation of history he didn't know about, Rick Pereg storms off to go conduct more research...

So...Les has left, and is not welcome back. Y'all should recruit! Unless you wanna just keep going?
