"Elanah, Unaligned." In more ways then one, Elanah thought in regards to everything that has happened with her sire...
"Wade Masters. I am unaligned. I focus more on matters of business, and thus far have benefited from being unbiased in my dealings."
Alexander stands and speaks in a loud voice. "My name is Alexander Linus. I am currently unaligned." Having said his piece he takes his seat.
Ten, there were ten Mekhet present out of the eleven that Ishani had told him she knew of in the city. "I believe it is time to get started then. Though I would ask, Harpy Naetesh, are there any of our clan you know of that have not shown up?" He supposed it might be necessary to track them down and meet with them should that indeed prove to be the case, or at the very least to establish contact with them.
Ishani looks around at the assembled Mekhet and at first does not see anyone they could be missing. Then it dawns on her who has not arrived. "Yes Gideon is not here. He may have gotten hung up on Dracul business as he is considered the head of the covenent I believe."
"I will have to meet with him then, but that is a matter for another time." Two covenant heads, the Harpy, and the Primogen; it would appear that Clan Mekhet holds some significant influence in this domain. He pauses to regard each of the Kindred in turn before speaking once more.
"As you all know by now Harpy Naetesh has stepped down from her position as Priscus of Shadows, leaving me in her stead. I in turn appointed Primogen Nagaraj as my Whip. The reason I have called this meeting is simple. Having this clan led by some shadowy figure most of you barely know might seem fitting. And were we in some cheap novel I am sure it would be the case. But in the real world where we find ourselves such a thing is terribly impractical. In the situation we find ourselves in; with suspected brood activity, inexplicable mass dreams, and a group of men concocting a poison that could wipe us from the face of the Earth...such empty showmanship could prove deadly."
"I am a Warrior and an Assassin. I have worked alone, and have been alone, for much of my Requiem. But I will not be able to lead like that. None of us will be able to survive the near incomprehensible dangers facing this Domain, alone. We need numbers enough to watch each other's backs, we will need skill sets more varied than any individual could possess. Or we will all meet Final Death."
"We are clan Mekhet, Shadows in the Dark. We are spies, infiltrators, assassins, hoarders of knowledge long lost to the ages. And in a struggle such as the one this Domain finds itself in, where we can not openly assail our foes, we are invaluable. The enemies that plague this domain must be fought from the shadows. We are Shadows. And I have little doubt we will all be called in the nights to come. I know that some of us already have. And as Priscus of this clan it may fall to me to coordinate such an activity, or recommend clan members for one." He slides a stack of cards with his name and phone number to the center of the table. "It is important that I can contact all of you, and that all of you can contact me." His piece said for now, Wilhelm waits to gauge the response of his clan mates.
Wade listened, leaning back in his chair with his fingers steepled, is the first to respond. When he speaks, he does so in all seriousness, no hint of levity in his voice.
"As I mentioned, I am a man of business. While it's true I know my way around a blade, my most beneficial skill set will be what I can... procure... should we need supplies or -- to a lesser extent -- information." With that, he gives a polite nod to Mr. Portman. "That being said, I am at the cities disposal, as best as I am able. However, so we are clear... I will do what I can. But, faced with Final Death or packing up, cutting my losses, and moving back to the last city I came from... Well, let me just say I will welcome any of you who wish to come with me, should that situation arise."
"I am at the service of the Shadow's sir." is all Elanah said. Making eye contact with Wilhelm as she bows her head.
Scott Portman speaks up. "I'm willing to do what I'm called upon to do, but as with Mr. Masters, I'm not particularly inclined toward combat. I'm pretty good at finding things out, though, including knowing where to get things. If you need something investigated, that's where I'll probably be of the most use."
Circe says, "I will of course serve as requested. I have already pledged to do all I can, and the full resources of the Circle of the Crone, to any effort to find and deal with those behind the Lost Nights. I lost ones dear to me, as have many others."
"I've been looking for a different kind of enemy," Sofia says. "I was with the Reeve and some others during the Bloodhunt a couple months back, and we were attacked by someone - apparently kine - who shot one of us with an arrow that burst into flame. She survived, but he got away, and he messed up my bike in the process. I've been looking for him ever since, but haven't found a clue, and nobody in the underworld seems to have heard of the guy. Given how well hidden he is, and that he doesn't seem an ordinary hitman or merc, I think he might have something to do with the Lost Nights... but that's just a guess, so far."
