For his part, the shaman's gaze is wary. He'd already blurted one truth that he hadn't wanted to face down, and perhaps merely been lucky the others hadn't dragged it further into the open.
Noticing Pepper's glance his way, he does his best to force a smile. Healing had to come from somewhere, and at least part of it was trying to feel happiness, even if forced.
The other part would be actually facing down uncomfortable truths.

Mace gave Faye a smile. "Great, I could use all the help I can get," she said. "I don't want to make anything required after the last meeting, but encouraging people to sit the exam can only help us. I just hope the others see it that way."
"Enough dreary talk, who wants to do something fun?" She looked around the room, meeting her cabal-mates eyes. Maybe they all did need to spend more time bonding.
