Well this is a first. The lush green foliage and little points and motes of color are certainly an improvement of the standing-inside-a-whale's-heart Red Room of the previous Freehold event. Gardens this sculpted always have a sort of funny feel to them, restraining nature, holding it in place, making it look the way you want it to look, trimming back where it breaks the image you want it to make. But at least it's nature. Vibrant and alive. Waiting to spring into action. Active at every hour of day or night, whether the gardener is present or not. Ramona feels like this concept centers her a little, as she strides into the Rose Garden. It's a building she's never been in before, and she's still not quite sure what to expect. But at least there's nature. While it does not eliminate her anxiety, it dulls it a bit at least.
Most of the Gardens seems relatively empty, perhaps she's one of the earlier arrivals. At least there's food this time. God, some of it she can smell from here. And that smell is good. Definitely stopping there later. But first, Ah, there it is, the submission box, over near a knot of Changelings. She quickly approaches, avoiding the Lost involved in their own conversations. A moment passes where she looks down at the envelope held loosely in one hand, as if reconsidering, but sets her jaw, and resolutely extends the envelope, fitting it into the slot and then releasing it. The die is cast. God, she feels stupid already. Are they serving booze here? They better be serving booze.
It might require a double-take to recognize Ramona, as this is probably the first time anyone in the Freehold has seen her in anything but jeans and a t-shirt. Shockingly, today she's actually wearing a sundress, a strapless number, off white with sort of a design done in really subtle lavender. Though her physique could best be described as sturdy, she actually kind of rocks it. The dress makes her powerful shoulders and arms into an aesthetic asset instead of a handicap, and the drape along her body seems natural and gives a glimpse of curve instead of making her blocky and frumpy. It does also show off the branded Viking-esque runes running over her body, and stone bones wearing through the skin at her knuckles, elbows, and knees, but that's life as a Changeling, what can you do? Perhaps even more shocking, she's not even wearing her Doc Martens! Just a nice pair of light, closed-toe shoes with just a tiny hint of solid heel. She's even carrying a matching purse! Bet her knife's in there.
