A quick nod of thanks to Simon and a smile was all he had time for before it seemed he would need to intervene.
Chuck didn't have to look at Aryana to imagine what was going through her head. Her greatest strength, so he imagined she thought, was her ability to fight. Allison's words had just implied they were nothing.
He was forming a response in his mind when the stranger, who seemed fimiliar with Kevin appeared. If nothing else it gave his a little longer to collect his thoughts. He gave a small smile at Jacqueline's enthusiasm but didn't have time to share it seeing as his new duty called. He would have preferred if this had stayed within the pack, but the others were here and this needing doing now.
He looked Allison in the eyes. If he had understood her wish for privacy it didn't show. "Unfortunately you are incorrect. Aryana has agreed to take the responsibilty of the pack's Beta position and she will not be found wanting in the area of physical prowess. However fortunately, I would prefer for another in the Chorus with your apparent drive and tenacity for combat. I have no doubt that you will take any foe to the ground once you have set sights on them, however that foe cannot be Aryana or any other wolf within this pack should you wish to join us. A pack divided against itself cannot stand and you will need to focus your efforts on those who prove to be our enemies so that we can all be stronger for it." His gaze swept back to Aryana. "If you have differences." Back to Allison now "We will need settle them now." He said, gesturing where he and Aryana had just come from. An invitation for the three of them to speak away from the group.
