With his Cabalmate approaching the table, Bishop snapped up from his reverie and greeted the man.
Bishop joins here.
While siping from his pineapple juice and looking around, Miach noticed a mage he had seen a couple of time coming at him. He was hard to miss, after all. Shakinf slightly his head toward the elegant Willworker, the Enchanter replied amicably "Not in the least. Please be my guest."
Right. General chaos. She can work with that. It's the overt interruptions that will derail this meeting faster than a Japanese speed train on the Californian rail network during an earthquake. Most of the councilors were at the table, and they can all sit down and get their stuff in order while they start. No sense in delaying something that's supposed to happen now.
"Alright. So first on the agenda from old news. Banisher University. All of the cabals were going to begin working on this, correct? Do the member cabals have updates for the consilium? Currently Panthera Nox is following leads gained at the winter gala. We'll have more information when we can confirm membership in the plots against the awakened that will be shared when we can be certain. Is there anything else you wanted to add Pepper ?"
She looks around the room at the tables that are set aside for the cabals. Some of them are terribly empty, but only because they're up at the other tables. Then there are some that have joined the cabal tables. Interesting. Either they're burgeoning with new members to be announced later, or they're sitting down and contributing to the general chaos. It's up to the cabals to care about that. It does make it difficult to get a gauge on how many are in cabals or not.
"As for the others, Avis do you have an update from Veiled Threats as Zodiac is taking care of official business? Weavebreaker and Ariadne have your cabals been active in helping to solve this problem?"
At this point, the meeting is about the five councilors who were selected to do something. The Hierarch who leads so that people act. The cabal members who have been working to make this city safer. Starting a war with the Banishers, and hopefully not starting others between themselves. Sanctioned wars. Terrible state.
"We've uncovered some useful leads, so far. Most of them are still being...analyzed, but we do have a few pieces of information. We've identified that the Fraternities and the Sororities, the Greek system, I guess you would say, has been compromised by the Banishers. It's, um...Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Sigma Delta Tau in particular," Avis declared after a moment of thought, deciding to go with the very, very broad strokes. It was their thing, after all, and no one else would be butting in, or should be butting in, yet, so no use trying to give everyone a full on briefing. Just a look at the general 'need to know', for now.
"We've also found that Glo is being pushed through some of the greeks and we suspect that it's being used to Awaken sleepwalkers. This way the greeks are aware of who's getting the Glo, so they can watch them, and then if they Awaken they scoop them up to get 'mental health help' or whatever other bullshit they spit at the public. Basically, they're gathering unwilling recruits and then brainwashing them." The councilor trailed off into silence, letting the grim news seep in and speak for her. Just for a moment.
"Like I said, we're still gathering and looking over info, but it's pretty clear that they've got a pretty bad ass infrastructure in place, so again, avoid the campus unless you have no other choice. Avoid the greek fuckheads, too."
He was listening, really.
It wasn't easy, over the burble of conversations. Seriously? Manners, yo.
And apparently Veiled Threats were the only ones not playing Musical Cabal Chairs.
Totally. Okay. With. That.
Just as quickly as Weavebreaker settled down at the Archangel's table, she was standing back up.
"We have nothing new to add." Weavebreaker plainly stated, before settling back down.
Pepper had sat at the Panthera Nox table, though hadn't gotten involved with the conversation surrounding Animus so soon after Order was called. Well, what could she say? Things happened.
As Nous ran down the information known about the Banishers at the University and member of other cabals spoke up about Whether they had more to add to that or not. Pepper stood, then, perhaps a little Late thought. "On the Matter of banishers at Sacramento University, You're correct in saying our investigation is ongoing."
"Fuck."
All alone at the smoking table, Gyges had been trying to listen to the official business over everyone doing their own thing, but the news that there's a drug that Banishers are trying to use to force Awakenings? Shiiiiiiiiiit, that was huge.
Did people understand how fucking huge that was if it was true?
Crowley, listening from the Archangel's table, whistles loudly at the revelation.
"That bad, huh? Er... I guess now would be a good point to note that I have a bunch of Free Councillor's were have communicated their interest in assisting with the investigation. I can provide a list of names after we are done here... if you are interested, we can coordinate something?" He inclined his head to Nous , Pepper , and Avis . "I didn't realise things had gotten moving so soon."
A nod to Ermon and Ariadne rises from her seat. She looks to the Council and Heirarch.
"Presently we are not. There was concern of flooding the campus with mages and our presence becoming known. We are willing to assist in any way at this point."
"I am worried about how organized these Banishers appear to be. They might be attracting Seer attention as well. I have nothing to say they are but I doubt that the Jailers would simply let such a thing continue without interfering. That can wait until later however." Her share said Ariadne sits back down.
