Just as Degnar had approached a group to do a little socializing, things seemed to get serious around him. This gathering had a purpose after all, and it seemed like the Autumn Courtiers wanted to get their show on the road. He shrugged to himself and offered L'aire a half wave before turning towards Rick, who had spoken about the Hedge. The Tunnelgrub figured that was the best place for him, since he tended to brave the dangers of the thorns on a somewhat consistent basis.

Despite Coco's invitation, Finn keeps his distance as the woman approaches the group of people at the other end of the buffet table. Whatever trouble was brewing; it was quickly swept away as a man Finn did not yet know made his presence known and announced the evening's instruction would begin. He glances around as people began wondering off into groups; wondering just where to place himself.

He had come tonight with an expectation of a simple physical workout, so the sheer volume of topics was a little overwhelming at first. While he didn't mind the idea of sparing, the idea of doing it inside the Hedge was a little disconcerting. To the Fairest it seemed like tempting fate just a little too much. Stealth and subtlety was likewise right out; Finn wasn't the sort that was easy to overlook. And his own dreams were disturbing enough, he wasn't eager to go traipsing around in someone else's any time soon...

Which just left one subject left; and it was even something the Spring was interested in learning about. He had learned the basics of Hedgespun items and enchanted items from the Freehold that had first welcomed him back from the Other Side; but he'd yet to learn the knack of creating them himself. He doubted one evening of instruction would be enough to start creating his own; but it would be nice to know more about such things for when and if he collected a few items for his personal use.

Thankfully, it was also the smallest of the various groups; so he wouldn't feel so bad about asking questions and possibly sounding like an idiot...

The night grew darker and colder but the bonfire raged for some time still, allowing those who had come to learn from the Leaden Mirror to...begin their lessons. Yet, some studies needed more time than one evening could even begin to grant but perhaps, if anything, interests had been piqued and with sufficient instructions, progress truly be made.

For who knows what happens when the fire goes out and the light diminishes, casting shadows across the Freehold?
