"You should meet my sister," Mace said after Justine described her dreams. "You'd have a lot to talk about." Not that Pepper was in the habit of talking to ghosts, but the thought would help Justine relax. And maybe Pepper would be willing to come along and help her feel more comfortable. It was worth discussing with her at least. Plus, Justine seemed more pliable, more present as she grew more relaxed, as she talked about her hopes and dreams. She glanced at Sylvan as he asked his question. She wasn't sure that reminding the girl she was dead was going to get them anywhere, considering how angry she'd been over the year, but she wouldn't contradict him.
