Ashley couldn't help but be annoyed with the kine, but all the drama she brought also brought some of her fellows' names. She gave an approving nod to Michael for his intervention before she returned her gaze to Mister Cordoba.

"It was, and been here for years..." Ashley swiftly responded. With the talk of the period and what was going on, Ashley couldn't help but look back and try to figure where she was at that point in time.

Mid 18's... The time was drawing a blank, she couldn't link anything significant happening in the world. Ashley bite her lip a moment over the lapse, before it struck her. I was sleeping

Ashley shook her head for a moment over the thought. Sleeping...more like I had a shaft of wood in the fucking heart...

Rina followed the group, always staying one step behind Travis, the better to keep an eye on him. She listened to the others converse, noting what was and was not revealed, and Juan's humility. She payed special attention to Ashley's revelation of having been around for years. The Shadow didn't pretend to know every vampire in the city, but she liked to think she was at least aware of most, and had met the more important ones. Not having met this one, who had allegedly been around for years, bothered her for some reason. "Years, you say? You must already know most of this city then."

[Michael Travis]

Michael looks back over his shoulder, momentarily broken from the distraction of the tour by the mention of his name. Right, I'm still surrounded by bloodsucking monsters. Scarier ones than me.

"I've been in the area since September. On an extended business trip, it would seem. I had hoped to be back in Florida by now." He offers a smile. It is forced, and Michael is still more than a little distracted. He looks back towards the last place he saw the tour guide, as if afraid to fall too far behind. He hadn't noticed Rina's proximity until just now. She's... interested in the same architectural oddities as I am? Michael doubts that. More likely, he had aggravated her. He dismisses the thought. She wouldn't try anything in this crowd.

The conversation about Miss Cohen draws his attention. If she is as old and powerful as her Beast suggests, she might indeed have more knowledge about this city than even the tour guide. Michael would definitely pay more attention to her - in so much as the tour is slow enough to not leave his attention too divided. "Indeed. How long?"

[Konrad Roth]

Konrad turns his head with interest at what Michael has to say and he abandons his post to take a few steps closer to him. "Business, huh? Mind if I ask what kind? I'm a business-man myself of sorts." And where there is money involved, Konrad sees opportunity. If the guy is willing to throw that much money around then best to put it to good use. It also piques his curiosity why a Kindred would make the journey clear across the country.

"Yes indeed." Ashley said candidly to Rina.

Ashley pointed off in the distance. "Right over there..."

"Was one of the biggest oak trees you have ever seen until it was struck by lightning in 1571..." Ashley shook her head and stifled a laugh. "I'm just fucking with ya. Think two years or so?" Ashley shrugged. "Plenty of time to know most of the city."

Ashley looked between Konrad and Michael for a moment. "Two business men..." A smirk teases her lips for a moment. "You will be amazed at what compound-interest can do..."

Rina noted Travis' reference to business, and Konrad's interest in it reminded her that she had to talk to him about their little deal. She had several things she needed done, and it would serve her well to use an asset she couldn't already be traced back to.

With that thought in her mind, Rina approached Konrad, giving him a serious look. "Speaking of business, I believe you and I have some." She looked around, then nodded. "We will have to speak later on this subject."

[Ashley Cohen]

Ashley gave a wry grin as she glanced between them. "It is funny, but I seem to recall that it was the Russians who were the first Europeans in the area..." Ashley gave a lazy roll of her shoulders.

"Think they were the first to come into contact with the natives..." The grin never faltered upon her lips as she spoke.

"Или что-то подобное..." Ashley said in fluent Russian. She couldn't help but laugh before she cast a glance to Rina wondering if communism imparted any knowledge of the language.

[Michael Travis]

Michael rubs his chin, considering his answer for Mr. Roth. Businessman? He sounds more like a shark.

"I don't mind that you ask. However, I would prefer not to talk about it." Michael shakes his head and gives Konrad a look that seems to say 'not here'. Michael isn't entirely sure how much he should divulge among so many relative strangers. Still, if the man was a 'businessman', he might have some connections Michael could make use of. And there was certainly something to be said for the advantages of a 'business' partnership. Ms. Cohen has it right. Compound-interests. He gives the female Ventrue an appreciative nod. Even Rina seemed to want something from the man.

"Remind me to exchange contact information with you before the evening is over." he says to Konrad.

Michael's attention is again stolen by the beautiful Ventrue's apparent knowledge of the area. I'm almost certain she has been here for quite some time. She's just being coy. When she adds something vaguely resembling Slavic, Michael muses. What was that?

"Was that Russian, by any chance? I have no idea what you said, but I have an appreciation for languages. They are a major part of any region's culture." Michael almost continues into what would become a tangent, then thinks better of it. It won't do me any good to reveal so much about myself. I have got to stop doing that. Michael almost cannot resist getting into a discussion about cultures and history, but any information he reveals about himself could potentially be used against him.
