Effervescent showers of light spill upon the verdant glade in an ocean as radiant and glittering against the black of the woods as a gem upon sable velvet. A sparkling white canopy has been erected in the middle of the glad, the proud island of festivity from which all celebration spins outward. An abundance of food and drink graces the tables beneath the canopy and the myriad of guests, all dressed in a myriad of wondrous styles, swarms around them, glutting themselves upon the fabulous bounty of potables and victuals. Not all are drawn to the canopy, however. Some couples meander around the edge of the glade, lingering beneath the sparkling lights floating above them, hovering on cables that are all but obscured by the darkened sky. Not even the stars are able to outshine the brilliance of the wedding party, leaving the electric lanterns as motes of dazzling light, holding all within their embrace.
All, that is , except for those few who have disappeared into the gloom of the woods to pursue their desires, whether it be for privacy, nicotine, or to ease yet more base needs. Next to the luminous civilization of the wedding glade, the woods loom as a refuge promising all those temptations which society is frightened of in the light.
Indeed, it is intriguing then, that Damien and Lucy are found hovering on the edge of such a darkness, each speaking with a different group, glasses of wine in their hands. Mirabelle, who came dressed in a luxurious, midnight blue gown with piece silver embroidery which evokes the dusk sky, subtly pointed them out, the lover with the poetry in his eyes, and the thief with fear in her heart.
Which one will the Lost of Sacramento pursue? Who's destiny will they help decide on this fated eve?
