The jars display a fine craftsmanship befitting the objects of opulent vanity.
Knowledge tugs at Davids memory - a story of a great perfumer and alchemist from Istanbul in the dying days of the Ottoman Empire. His signature was a long stemmed cosmetic jar in which he sold his special perfumes and unguents. Always discerning, the nameless perfumer's potions are rare and sought after among the occult community.
Ceasing his pacing, David set the books down on a nearby table and glanced at both Aileen and Michael. The glass jars might... the Shadow noted carefully, stressing the word 'might,' be extremely rare.
The Shadow Mortician tugged at his rolled-up sleeves, making sure they remained flat, There is a story of a perfumer from the Ottoman Empire, an alchemist, who's perfumes and lotions held special properties. A beat, The ones still extant are both rare and sought-after and the fine-craftsmanship leads me to believe these might be two.

Aοleen nodded soberly, bowing to the superior knowledge of David. Brother Raluca had seemed to know quite a bit about Alchemy, but he was now gone.
"So what matters is the content, not the jars. We must make sure not to waste what little is left. We'll look into that clue, who knows where it may lead us." she said with a smile toward her Cousin.
It begged the question though: how did the thieves put their hands on such rare artifacts ? And what did they use them for ? It must have seemed commensurately important to them.
'Special perfumes' made David wonder. Some believed Sage warded off ghosts. Frankincense and Myrrh has been used everywhere from Egypt all the way through Christendom. The Shadow wondered if there was a connection of a sort with what they had.
Right, the content. It might give us a clue on what they attempted in the foyer, in any case.
Looking to Aοleen then to Michael, David says, Without more in-depth study, I think we've gotten as much as we can right now.

Lacking better ideas, or tools, the female Shadow nodded in agreement. "We've learned something at least. It is not much, but inch by inch, we'll get closer to the truth." she said, confident in their collective ability to get to the bottom of pretty much anything.

Is there anything left to discuss in this scene? I have a feeling we have taken it as far as we can. Thoughts?

Now that they are done, Michael's weariness returns. It's ironic how a body that has been dead or nearly a decade still has all those reactions engraved into it. There is no adrenaline, no hormones but he feels exactly as if an adrenaline rush is fading:
"Yes, I think there's nothing to be gleaned from the jars without appropriate equipment and time investment. For now we can only tell that the thieves were obviously aware of the supernatural, that the funeral jars probably had the ghosts bound to them and the glass jars are alchemical in nature. It also seems like they are one-shot only and need recharging. Perhaps more can be made clear by examining what they were after."
The doctor rubs his chin looking at the jars, enthusiasm sparking in his eyes again:
"Still, we've made a major scientific discovery here. We should find a safe place to store these artefacts and catalogue them. Perhaps, that very same vault the thieves were trying to rob?"
I'm okay with wrapping this up and stashing the jars somwhere in the Chapterhouse behind the scenes
