Asp waved off the Gatorade with a small smile, not a huge fan of the sugar and whatnot. "It does, don't worry. But I mean, I'd rather play ultimate or something like that if we decided to do sports more often."

Frisbee was awesome. She enjoyed playing with the girls out of UNLV in their intramurals and whatnot, back home...

The homesick burned, but only for a moment. Thankfully, Cut had distracted her. "Yes, absolutely! I'll get the bill." She wasn't rich, but she could afford this. After a minute or so and the exchange of a couple of twenties, Asp rejoined him and headed outside. "So, what's this?"

"Ultimate? I'm so down if you're talking about frisbee? Except, I kind of like using an Aerobie...," he answered, raising an eyebrow in question. Some people took that stuff seriously. Like, your disc had to have a Frisbee logo on it and everything.

He opened his mouth to protest when she said she'd pay, but didn't chase her down. Oh, well. He'd skipped lunch for nothing. He'd go big on dinner. Nice of her, though. Owed her one. Instead, he prepared for his trick: upending the Gatorade and finishing it off. Jeez. Locate a bathroom for immediate future reference.

Done by the time Asp returned, he went outside, holding the door for her. Ow. Damn door definitely wasn't that heavy on the way in, was it?

"Alright, here," he said, offering the empty bottle.

"Go, ummm, like ten paces over there? And hold it out on the flat of your hand."

"I am. And I don't mind that, so long as it's not league play," she said with a grin as she headed off.

When she returned and strolled through the door which he was holding for her all gentleman-like with a 'thanks', she looked intrigued at the bottle being offered. At his instructions, she took the bottle, took the ten paces, and held it out with her not-so-sore arm, her palm up with the bottle on top.

"All right," she said, anticipating what was going to happen next.

Cut produced his deck of cards with a grin, and slid one out.

Seen the trick? Guessed the trick? Maybe. Maybe not. He'd said she would like it. Arrow Gurrrrrrrl.

He pulled from a foreign tower, letting the supernal flow into the card between his fingers.

That bottle sure looked hella small that far away. Maybe he should have said five paces?! With a sideways flick of his wrist --it's like skipping a stone, yo-- he released it.

Bottle down.

Card? Stuck in the plastic.

Every gotten a papercut? Yeah, paper cuts. The only thing that stops it from going deeper is paper flexes.

THUNK.

The bottle was struck off her hand a moment after as Asp's reflexes and Unseen Senses kicked in, snapping her digits out of the way and alerting her to the spell. The bottle bounced and slid, and the youthful Obrimos peered at it as it skittered to a bottley halt.

The card had sunk into the plastic. It had been thrown that well. Or maybe whatever magic that was had helped it along. Hmm.

"That... was awesome. How did you learn to flick cards like that?!"

She grinned at him, excited. There was something to a good card trick that was so much fun.

"I was born this way!"

The singing was barely recognizable as Gaga. Don't take this guy to karaoke night. He bowed.

"Ummm, practice. Lots, and lots of practice. You can actually throw a card pretty far if you step into it? But the accuracy is like, nonexistent."

He walked over and reached down, pulling the card out, wincing at the screeching protest of the plastic.

"Cool, huh?"

He offered her the card.

"I could have, you know, left it alone, and just knocked it over, but I thought you might like that."

He wasn't entirely helpless. Sure, he wasn't going to kill anyone with a single card, but.

"Anyway, ta-da! That was it."

Asp accepted the card and looked at it, curious which card he had thrown. Was it, perchance, the four of diamonds? "I don't know, man. That was pretty fucking accurate. I can throw a --" She stopped, perhaps not wanting to discuss one of the many ways in which she was trained to hurt people in public. "Yes. I can throw things. But not a card, not like that. That's awesome."

Maybe if she gave him some throwing knives, he'd show her his secret Guardian assassinry capabilities.

"All right, Gaga. Where you headed?" she asked, bringing her sore arm across her chest for a stretch.

The card? Six of clubs. Random pick. He'd been too focused on how damn far away and how damn small that bottle had gotten after ten paces to get clever.

"Oh. Yeah. Other things totally throw better. I just, you know, have these all the time."

Surely she did know, by now. He was tempted to see how good she was at throwing things. He could. Smiley's People, yo. He just didn't walk around with a sack of sharp metal things. And, Scorched Earth.

"Ummm, not sure, really? At some point, I'm thinking, I want to see what happens around this town when it gets dark."

Asp nodded to his point about other things throwing better. Yeah, knives were like that, but they weren't always convenient or legal to carry. Cards... yeah. That thing had sunk deep into that bottle. She wondered what Cut's throw could do to skin.

"Yeah, one of these nights, we'll have to gather the girls and go check out some spots. Well. At least, Avis." Sourpuss was a bit... sour. She switched arms to stretch. "I'm gonna head home and hit the showers, man. Have fun. Let me know how it goes!"
