Drawing the door toward him, Miach's line of sight increased by an inch, but it was an inch full of hope because he could see Kiko through it ! Was it his mind playing tricks, another trap by his abducters, or real help ? Or was she fighting here for her life too ? The gunshots...
The coward Acanthus half-considered letting her pass, and enter the corridor alone later, but he was so tired he didn't think he could go on much longer. Praying that Menwel was watching over him from above, he joined the friendly Awakened.
"Kiko ?" he asked, his quavering voice betraying his doubts, his hopes, his fears, a myriad of emotions rushing in all at once.

The more than obvious gunshots were what brought up the Mage side of things. With onehand on the doorknob the other fishing her badge out of her shirt she opened the door and moved past Kiko.
“POLICE, PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPONS.” Her voice was loud and rather demanding at this point. She moved towards the other room, close to the wall and perfectly ready to duck behind it again if she needed too.

As Kiko started to focus her thought to make them real... her concentration was broken as she looked at Maich with both surprise and a small gasp of hope as she moved to grab Maich without thinking she grabbed his hand "We move" and went to help him leave the building back the way they came, at least that was the idea after all... as fast as her little form could carry them.
Somewhere inside her a switch flipped.. Maich was, at this very moment, a child.. and woe be unto anyone who tried to harm her child ..
Kiko is going to try to move Maich and herself as far from danger as defensively as possible, though not sure if there would be anything special.. I trust the ST's judgement's

Orobas had been shot.
Much as he'd love to run, his leg was hurting a great deal thanks to that. He stumbles back, away from the gunman, pressing a hand against the wall for support.
"SHIT! SHIT SHIT SHIT" he curses in his head as he tries to remember to breathe.
There might be a chance... he can hear Vae shouting, talking about the police. Orobas pulls himself to his full height, trying to stay standing on his leg. He might not have the most imposing appearance, but if this guy thinks the cops are here-
"You heard her," he spits out, glaring at the guy. "P-police are here, drop the weapon!"

Vae's intimidating declaration seems to illicit a reaction from the gunman, who turns and runs out the door. It is a somewhat pyrrhic victory, however, as another person, a wirey athletic woman, opens one of the still-closed doors and levels a gun at the first person she sees. Apparently Orobas isn't that convincing.
Beej Reverb is up, then Vae
As there isn't a lot he can do in the room other than hide behind a couch Reverb cautiously moves back to the hallway baton in hand, mindful that there are now gunshots inside.

Vae's gun leveled at the woman, one quick snap of the trigger and BANG bullet in the chick's hand. Her eyes hardened though the relief would probably hit that she hadn't managed to wound Orobas more, but that would happen later on.
