The answer struck West as odd, and raised questions about what made it the answer. Had something happened? It was nice to know what sort of craziness you were dealing with. That everyone had a at least a little crazy, was a given; how it manifested -- particularly in combat...
"What do you mean, 'Wisdom'? Did something happen?"
The questions followed the thoughts, with all the subtlety of a bull in a china shop.

"There is no release or salvation from evil except the attainment of the highest virtue and wisdom." Weavebreaker says in response, quoting Socrates. She glances to the ground thinking about the damage she has seen others cause.
"There were a lot of Banisher's in Savannah. A bible-belt thing I guess..." She lets out a soft sigh. "Seen a lot of bad things happen to innocent people from both sides of the fence when people do not consider the effects of their actions..."
Deep down, as much as she feared what other willworkers could do, she feared even more her capacity.
"And God forbid others suffer because I was careless..." Weavebreaker's hand moves to touch the golden cross on her neck for a moment before she drops it back down to her side.

Vaeltia watched and listened to Weavebreaker, “I’m wondering how this applies to rotes, though. I mean I get the guilt and preemptive guilt, but if you want to learn how to use something in a way that promotes wisdom shouldn’t you start by knowing your own limits.”
She looked down for a moment, at her now empty plate. “Magic never seemed like there was a limit, you have to push them or you can’t grow. It’s like water, if you stop it’s moving it stagnates and god knows what grows there. I don’t think you need a teacher Weavebreaker, or you might. But it sounds like you just need someone to practice with.”
Vaeltia knew she was talking to West and that Leo ( Xander ) hadn’t said anything, but if the four of them had the potential of cabal such things needed to be discussed as a group.

"Heaven forfend," West murmured at the end of Weavebreaker's words.
He shifted restlessly, settling on picking up another slice of tomato to eat. He had never cared for staunch Roman Catholicism, or any codified religious doctrine which qualified a supreme being with mandates. He'd read and participated in more than one discussion about the Old Testament being the work of the Seers, and the New being an attempt at mitigation by the Pentacle. Ultimately, the sociological construct of a supreme entity dictating actions were less to his liking than personal responsibility to the ethics and morality of mankind.
Such indoctrination usually came before Awakening -- and was difficult to point out. Still, he would rather see a Pentacle mage tempered by such than Hubris.
"Practice is good," he said, after swallowing a bite of tomato.
"Have you ever dabbled in Fate?" West asked, looking at Weavebreaker. "Watched the ripples and eddies of your actions?"

In the long silence that followed his question, West finished his tomato.
"So... uh... great burger," he said.
He gave Vaeltia a look that conveyed several things, and stood.

"I could definitely use the practice..." Weavebreaker looks between them for a moment as their insights is what she sought, especially now she was away from home.
"I never messed with Fate before..." She says as she muses over his words. "It seems like it would help give a better perspective overall."
|

|
|
|
|
Vaeltia returned her master’s look with a bit of an eyeroll.
She got it....at least some of it.
The Obrimos Apprentice stood up, “Well thanks all for coming, West you mind staying after I need to talk to you about a few things.”
