(1211) Consilium: Avalon and the Cabals

[Ariadne]

Blue eyes watch the new arrivals, though Ariadne hides the surprise she feels as people not speaking for Cabals make their way in. I must have misread that posting. She nods to Omen as he identifies himself as a Veil, definitely have to talk with him later. There's a small friendly smile and shake of her head as Ixidor makes his entrance. Still getting used to that.

Once it is Ariadne's turn to speak. "I'm Ariadne for all the new people. I am here on behalf of the Unbound Smoke." She shifts in her chair. "Mastigos of the Guardians of the Veil and the Epopt, so if you're looking for a boogieman you found your woman." Ariadne smiles playfully, getting the obvious out of the way.

"The Unbound Smoke will follow the five Great Rites." She nods to Vaeltia. "We will in time claim territory however that is in the future. Once we do it will be clearly marked to avoid confusion. We are accepting foster mages as well, though we reserve the right to accept or reject said mages as we see fit."

Four gives nods to the previous speakers. "I go by Four, and I'm speaking for the Medstars. We do not acknowledge the Right of Crossing, but do recognize the other four Rights. We have not yet discussed the matter of fostering mages. We claim the Cadacus Clinic as our Territory."

Avalon nodded at the announcement of cabals, although the unasked for comment did raise an eyebrow. “Five cabals then, all holding to the Great Rights, and so I’m evoking Emeritus now. Omen, you have been recognized as present for this meeting, but unless you are announcing the formation of a cabal, you do not have the status or the permission to speak.”

She said before placing the cigarette back into her mouth. “If you have issues, you do not need to be present.” The Hierarch directed her cold glare at the Acanthus for a moment longer before redirecting to the rest of the room. “As for the other reasons for this meeting: The consillium as a whole will hold to all five of the Great Rights, and Passage from sanctums to order holds will be considered free regardless of cabal territory. Also Cabals as well as orders will hold the right to acknowledge new mages into the city, provided those newly arrived are announced to the others and to me.”

She paused a pull off her cig. “Unless any of the cabals have anything to add, or the formation of another to announce, we should be done for the night.”

With the meeting apparently over, Kite closed the small notepad he was taking notes with – placing it and the pen into his inside coat pocket – and quietly stood up from his seat and walked towards the door. Once outside however, he hovered close to the doorway, directing an eye and an ear towards the room just in case someone had something to add at the last minute.

Aenigma listened as the remaining Cabals were formally introduced to the Hierarch. He raised an eyebrow slightly as the large man announced that his Cabal would not acknowledge the Right of Crossing, and wondered why they would've reached such a decision. After all, they were the only Cabal in the city that had chosen to take such an action.

Hmm, that's certainly...interesting to say the least.

However, his thoughts were interrupted when the man that had identified himself as Omen earlier on, decided to speak out against the Hierarch and the Deacon's smoking habits. Whether the guy had a point or not, this was not the time nor place to make such a point. While his tone may have been polite, he was an unknown mage speaking against those who had proven themselves in this Concilium...one of them being the Hierarch herself!

Well, that wasn't a very wise choice...

Besides, if smoking was such a problem, surely the proprietor of the establishment would've informed the Hierarch and others of it being an issue earlier in the evening. After all, this wasn't the first cigarette the Acanthus was smoking from what the Mystagogue could recall. The slightest of smirks formed on the corner of his lips as Avalon put the newcomer in his place though, but it vanished just as fast as it had formed.

"That is all from the Keepers," said the young Warlock as he addressed the Hierarch and the other representatives. "Any claims of territory will be discussed at a later point, when and if my Cabal chooses to make such a claim." With those words, he nodded politely to the Hierarch before turning to share a few words with the outspoken Guardian.

"If the smoke bothers you this much, perhaps it is a wise idea to leave the room," he said to the man in a polite tone, a pleasant smile on his lips. "Getting some fresh air may not be a bad idea..." he let his words trail off, not having anything else to add at that moment.

Anyone taking a look at Ariadne after Omen's comment would find her to be unaffected by the comment. On the outside of course, you don't make it far in life by showing your cards. On the inside... well the common phrase would be a facepalm. Followed closely by a mental plea to the future Messiah of the Pentacle.

Ariadne nods in acknowledgement to the Heirarch, simple enough. Red hair moves as Ariadne turns her attention to Omen. Before she can speak however Aenigma talks the Guardian out of the room. Blue eyes flick to the Mystagogue for a moment before Ariadne turns her attention back to the Heirarch.

"Will the Consilium pull together Sentinels and Heralds or are those responsibilities up to the Cabals? And I will make sure that Emeritus is explained later to Omen."

[Uncarved]

While others in the gathering spoke, the Warlock Uncarved sat with his eyes closed, head bent in an attitude both of prayer and contentment. Behind his veiled eyes he listened to what was said, and absorbed it. He barely moved at all, that is, until Ariadne spoke; it was hardly a dramatic movement, just an incline of the head to one side. Clearly, the Mastigos was more interested in this part of the discussion.
