The longest night of the year. The temperatures in Sacrametno began to drop even further, as Northern California was hit by a wave of cold wins. The trees in Sacramento have shed their leaves, and the weather man on the TV told people to brace themselves for a cold Winter. As its natural, the time for one Monarch to step down and pass the Freehold's crown to the next has arrived. As Autumn's term comes to an end, a new one begins...tonight.
Once guests enter the Four Seasons, they are greeted by the Wizened who manages the hotel. Mr. Bates leads those who have arrived through the halls of the hotel, guiding them through a maze of hallways until they finally arrive at the Throne Room.
The place still has the touch of Autumn, with piles of leaves beneath the trees around the Hollow. There are a few scattered pumpkins still lying around the place. However, the temperature has dropped a few degrees inside, and there's a hearth burning in one of the corners of the room.
As usual, there is a long wooden table with several chafing dishes and trays on it, laying off to one corner of the room. There are a variety of dishes to choose from. A rather large fruit cake sits at the end, and next to it there's two large pitchers. One is labeled "Eggnog" and the other "Hot Chocolate."
The hotel's staff is already congregating around the room, making sure everything is ready for the event. The Spring Queen, who also happens to be the chef of the hotel's restaurant "Fresh Tastes," is laying out a few more dishes on the buffet table, whistling a christmas tune while she works on making everything perfect for the evening.
Big Swilla is standing by the door, greeting people as they come in. He glances over at the buffet a few times, focusing on a large ham and the roasted bird on the middle of the table. Duncan is standing close by to Swilla, making some small talk with him. As usual Sam, the ensorcelled bartender, is standing behind the bar watching the Lost of Sacramento pile into the room.
The Winter Queen is not currently present, but that is to be expected. After all, the Fairest does have a tendency of showing up a little later.
Welcome to this year's Winter Coronation! As usual, break up into side threads and label them appropriately (i.e. [Winter Coronation '12]). This thread will remain open for a month, closing on January 23, 2013. It will be open to new arrivals for 2 weeks. But above all else, have fun!
