The meaning behind the offered hand was not lost on Aïleen, and God knows she had felt lonely at times. Certainly it had been the same for the other woman, whose leg certainly put apart. Taking the offered hands, she pressed them once, timidly, only to release them after a breath with a smile. She reciprocated the feeling, but couldn't bring herself to display it more openly than that.
