(1202) Movie Madness Court

[Max Heinz]

*Max watches the performers come and go across the stage, clapping politely for each. He wasn't much for music, at least not much outside of old Jazz and Country. But it's clear everyone is trying their best to put on a good show; and it was the polite thing to do.

He looks around Court, spotting Tracy busy talking with Dog. That was a conversation he was going to steer clear of; Max wasn't sure what two Gangrel could discus in the middle of Court, but he was pretty sure his sanity would think him for not finding out.

So, he looks to find Alice, it wouldn't be smart to skip over offering his congratulations to the newest Harpy. He soon finds her, busy conversing with another member of the Order...

Thankfully, the Seneshal takes the stage and once more calls the attention of the other Kindred in Court. He gives Ariana his full attention, turning and bowing his head to the Prince as he's mentioned. More polite applause accompanies each name as the Regent names them, Max waiting along with everyone else to see who the winners would be.*

[Ciara Maskelyne]

*Ciara watches as Ariana takes the stage, smiling slightly to her fellow Ventrue as the Regent recaps the performances of the night. She looks to Asa as Ariana bows her head in his direction, catching his nod; her smile growing ever so slightly. She applauds as each name is called, except her own, of course. She didn't wish to keep the Prince waiting, but it wouldn't do to ignore the Seneschal either...

Using Ariana's slight pause before announcing the winners as an excuse to move, the tall Ventrue makes her way towards Asa; hips swaying ever so slightly as the dark-haired Kindred moves quickly but gracefully to the Prince. Stopping just close enough to carry out a pleasant conversation with Asa, she gives her fellow Ventrue a deep bow of respect; or at least as deep as the form-fitting dress would allow.*

Good evening, Alder Prince Clarke. I hope you have found the night's performances entertaining? *She says softly, remaining bowed until His Majesty answered.

It was a subservient gesture, but it was always better to show more respect than less. Plus, it gave Ciara a convenient excuse to not have to divide her attention between the Prince and the Seneschal.*

[Daniella Sage]

Daniella listens to Ariana and claps as she makes her announcements, eager to hear which two lucky Kindred had won.

Turning to Charles, Daniella smiles, returning the bow, “Mister Black, pleased to meet you!” she is pleased to hear he is of the First Estate, “Given our surroundings, it is Madame Au Pair Daniella Sage, Bailiff of Sacramento.” She says with a friendly smile, knowing he would understand the formalities. “I was pleased to see how many talented Kindred we have among us! And two males singing the duet was a surprise, but both but on a wonderful show.”

Her face brightens at his compliment, “Thank you sir! Have you been in Sacramento long?” her voice is upbeat and friendly, with a British accent.

[Vassagon]

Chase hadn't held his breath, figuratively, as the Seneschal made her announcement. But he did applaud generously at the mentions of the other competitors, and ultimately the winners, Matias & Connery. Their efforts were well-deserved their reward. Still, he was glad for his own opportunity to perform and even though a lot of kindred didn't get the excerpt he still enjoyed the feeling on stage. Perhaps a fencing demonstration next time. In any case now he was left with the problem of obtaining Tenancy through the typical channels. He followed after Seneschal Donovan ( Selena ) at a distance, waiting for a chance to catch a word with the Ventrue Priscus.

Charles and Daniella continue here

[James Calloway]

Standing by Roxie Hart and having introduced himself as the announcement went up, James found himself waiting, hoping, not for himself, but for the Gangrels who had done such good work this evening. This show was not a Daeva show. It was not a Lord show. No, the performing arts tonight were the place for Savages. Applauding at all the appropriate times with a smile on his half-masked face, the Phantom of the Opera was hoping for the Priscus's victory, and if not his own, then his friend, Jose's.

And then it happened, exactly as he had hoped -- Jose and Dillon had won, a clean sweep for Clan Gangrel -- for tenancy, in a zone without a Regent no less! His applause rising, he tossed a smile and a polite nod to Jose Matias and a grin to Dillon Connery . He couldn't help but feel like this meant future opportunities for Clan Gangrel as it finally got some tenancy going outside of the Regency owned by Roxie Hart.

Turning back to Roxie with a grin on his face as it was all said and done, he couldn't help but think, Score TWO for the family. Speaking in his usual quiet, calm voice, Jim said, "That was fun."

Selena

[Swift]

Dr. Swift had stood off to the side watching the performances and doing his best to remain invisible as the Beast within endless scrabbled and scratched to try and run the hell away. It was odd. No matter how long the exposure to the more powerful Kindred in the room the Beasts fear and enthusiasm did not diminish one bit. Dr. Swift applauds with all the rest, no sign of his inner struggle evident on his face. A very good showing from our family tonight. At least there is that. Tenancy for performance, though....it seems to crass.

When the winners are announced, however, Dr. Swift's eyebrows raise in an expression of surprise and glee. His applause joins the others with an addition of enthusiasm. Well I'll be damned. They won! They deserve it, obviously, but they actually won! Maybe we have a better shot at equality here than I had originally hoped.

Dr. Swift detaches himself from the wall - God, I hate this. I'm not some damned Shadow hiding from the world. By itself it's almost worth trying to obtain an officer position in the Court. - and moves to congratulate the winners. He straightens his hat and checks his toy whip at his belt. He then moves toward his Priscus. Dillon Connery seems to be moving through the crowd with a purpose so Dr. Swift merely attempts to catch his attention briefly, nodding his head in a gesture of respect. If the Priscus wasn't too busy he would decide if he had time to speak.

[Roxie Hart]

The leggacious Regent had been standing still and watching the performances. After the announcement was made, she was surprised two of her family won. Shocked was more like it.

When the irritating one spoke to her, Roxie’s head snapped Jim's direction. The irritation in her eyes behind her sunglasses was probably felt, despite being hidden.

“Oh, I see… now I'm good enough to talk to.” It’s not like she forgot what happened right before the Phantom. Her gum was snapping fast as she continued chewing it.
