Meet and Greet 5

[Aenigma]

Aenigma looks up from his book at the new girl and smiles. "Not at all, feel free to take it." He holds the open book in his hands for a brief moment before closing it. The gesture, while subtle, would be recognized by any member of the Mysterium as the identifying sign of a Neokoros Superior. The funny thing was, he actually had an open book in his hands in this case.

He takes a sip from his tea and then gives her a friendly smile. "So you are new here, huh?" He had noticed her casting a spell not too long ago, but he wasn't sure of what she had casted. He leans in a bit closer and speaks almost in a whisper. "Gotta be careful of where you do that." He winks at her and points to the words on the wall written in High Speech that indicate that the only spells allowed are those of supernal sight.

"I'm Aenigma by the way. What's your name?"

As a Mysterium member herself She recognized Aenigma's gesture and as subtly as she could she repeated the gesture. She takes the seat across from Aenigma "Yes and no... I grew up here but this is my first time seeing the city as it really is." He pale cheeks get a tinge of red as she smiles an embarrassed smile. "I guess I wasn't as subtle as I thought." She adjust her glasses as she continues. "I'm still a little new to all of this and forgot to open my eyes." Unsure of how open she could be here she hoped that he would understand her odd reference to mage sight.

Alister emerges from the same room Amanda had left from and heads toward the cafe section of the shop. He puts in his order - Earl Grey, with steamed milk and a splash of vanilla syrup - and waits at the counter, looking over the crowd.

After a quick scan, he spots Raum ( Sirith ) speaking with two others at one of the tables that dotted the room. Grinning widely, Alister gives his fellow Guardian a little salute.

Realizing she forgot to tell aenigma her name she quickly adds "Oh and they call me Demise" hoping she didn't seem too rude.

[Miach]

Apart from the Museum, the only place Miach had been told about was a bookstore going by the name of Written In Water. He headed there as soon as he has settled in his flat near Greenfair Park. While he had always been one to go to the bars rather than the library, he had had to study hard to get his degree, and he was no stranger to such places. The vibe he got from the place was comfy, and Menwël would have liked it, but the tall man didn't feel like stretching his legs and relaxing, and the mere thought of his past lover made him cringe. He just wanted to "see what gives", perhaps introduce himself, shake a few hands, smile once or twice, mutter non-commital banalities, and de done. He would have to come back here often enough, he knew. Awakened were social creatures too...

He walked to the bar, and ordered a cappuccino, with lots of cream and sugar. While toying with the spoon, he looked around him, wondering whether there were any here who would become friends, or foes, passer-byes or long-standing relations, and what the future would be. At last, a positive, future-oriented thought... Perhaps it had been a good idea to move here, indeed.

[Aenigma]

Aenigma smiles at Demise. "No worries, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time." He takes a sip from his tea and looks around the room. "It's nice to meet you Demise."

She must be a Moros with a name like that.

He takes another sip of tea, savoring the subtle flavors. "So tell me, what do you do?"

Ahriman blinks up at his cabal mate. He didn't want to argue with his cabal mate, partly because such a conversation was best left for quiet coffee and discussion. The other reason was that his eyes were locked on the picture. There was a group of about 30 people in the picture. He was scanning ever now and then looking up.

"Pulp... is that animus?"

Alister gives Miach a little salute with his cup as the other man properly doctors his coffee. "Afternoon. You here for the welcoming committee meeting or just here to browse?"

The smallest things...
Sometimes, it was all in the smallest things. The aroma of a coffee, the light bitterness of strong cocoa, the onctuosity of the cream, the sweetness of brown sugar. Mix all those simple ingredients, and you have a drink to soothe even the worst moods. God knows it took a lot of cappuccino before Miach felt better. But now he was here, feeling actually slightly better at the prospect of a fresh start, lightened of some painful memories.

He had been in this self-centered mood for a short while when someone talked to him.

Is he of us ? He sure behaves like one... let's roll with the flow, once again.

He nodded politely back, and decided to take the line.
Afternoon. I didn't know there was a welcoming commitee, but if so, I might as well join in. Name's Miach, just come from L.A. What about you ? Member of said commitee, or on the receiving side of it ?
