Martha made her unsteady way to her Chamber, opened it carefully and waited till Josephine was within before closing the door gently, she gestures with a dainty hand for Josephine to sit if she chooses.

Once inside Jospehine can see the layout and clutter. Her busy looking chamber is decorated with two prints on the wall. One is a modern, if large, photo of a ballerina in a tutu holding a ballet pose against a dark background and a large framed copy of John Waterhouse's 'Lady of Shalot.'There is a tall Chinese screen erected in one corner of the room which conceals that part of her chamber. A fire extinguisher, a simple standard office style desk which is piled high with neatly stacked notes, books and school style notebooks. All look well used. Two book cases are against one wall. Both bookcases are almost full with pre-owned books. They look, at first glance, to be mostly textbooks. There's a cheap looking laptop and printer too. A few chairs and a couch. A coat rack and a seat opposite her busy looking desk. The place, though cluttered, is clean and has the aroma of lavender.

Allowing time for the doctior to sit, she remains standing for the moment. Martha leans heavily on her cane and nods respectfully to the doctor. "Doctor! Thank you for seeing me. You and your expertise come highly recommended, I must say!" she seems honest in this and her wide eyes are humble.

Doctor Powell allowed Martha to set the pace on the short walk to the office, and fell into leisurely step beside her. She hadn't been to the Herald's office before, and once inside she took a moment to study the new area. It reminded her somewhat of old, long dead colleagues office, and there was something slightly familiar and almost homely about it.

The Haunt noted the chair, but remained standing as Martha made herself comfortable and when she spoke, Josephine's eyes slipped across to her. "Oh? I'm flattered," Doctor Powell with slight amusement. "I wasn't aware I was a topic of conversation," she added politely. "Is it for my expertise that you require me, Herald?"

"Yes, Doctor! Yes, indeed!" she hesitates now, "I...goodness...this is awfully embarassing..." she says, and inwardly regrets even mentioning in it. She looks to her shoes, bashful, her head bowed. "Terribly...terribly embrassing, doctor." she sighs, grips at her cane. "I...I am in need of...well...that is to say...are you in a position to obtain, please, an inexpensive and simple prosthetic limb, ma'am? I shall, of course, pay. I seek no gratuitous perquisite or favour, ma'am...only...I find trying to obtain a suitable one most difficult. I have a simple one...purchased from Ebay...but, while durable, it is rather ill fitting. I wondered if, with your expertise...I hoped you might be better placed to help. I shall not think any less of you if you are not..." her voice falters and stalls to a whisper, she looks up, her wide eyed gaze searches Josephine for any clue at all about a reaction...she's counting on professionalism...but seems equally ready for mockery at her Ebay folly.

The need to commandeer a prosthetic suddenly brought sense to Martha’s constant limp; obviously there must have been some sort of leg injury, but it would have been rude before this to enquire as to what exactly the problem was.

As the Herald made her hesitant admittance, there was merely a look of puzzlement in Josephine’s face. For a few seconds she appeared contemplative, but eventually she spoke again. “I keep relatively up-to-date with medical journals, but I don’t think I’ve heard of ‘eBay’.”

It was a rather good insight into how little Doctor Powell was into modern technology that she hadn’t heard of eBay; but at least with that lack of knowledge, a little of the Herald’s embarrassment at having acquired a prosthetic limb in that fashion may be eased.

“At any rate, it isn’t just a simple task of ordering a new prosthetic. One will need to be fitted to you specifically, to ensure maximum comfort and functionality. I can do that for you; I’m used to fitting prosthetics.”

Her demeanour had shifted from when she had been drifting around Court; now she was every bit the professional physician that she had been while alive.

Reassured by Josephone professional demeanour and calm command of the situation, Martha visibly relaxed. She was in good hands now. She looks to Josephine with obvious respect and admiration. "Goodness! How fortunate for me, doctor, that you are skilled in this matter! Thank you!" she visibly relaxes, stares at her own shoes and, after a short while of contemplation, looked up to Josephine. "I shall be at your command, ma'am, with regards whatever you wish me to comply to do, doctor. I shall not quibble over activity, but I am not wealthy." she adds, hesitant, but honest. This was no time for modesty or appearances.

Doctor Powell smiled in a ressuring manner, and nodded simply. "Few of my patients have been wealthy," she admitted. "I can ask around and see which would be both useful and cost effective to you. Alternatively, we we could work out an alternate means of payment, if you would prefer."

She seemed open to suggestions, but wasn't demanding anything in particular. It might have been the Herald's office, but Doctor Powell appeared to be trying to ensure the other Kindred remained at ease.

Her ease is stiffled for a moment at the mention of alterntive payments. But, it was an opportunity all the same. Leaning hard on her cane, she asked, "I see...but, what sort of alternative payments, please, doctor?" wide eyed.

The ease with which Doctor Powell spoke to Martha remained, although she appeared vaguely bemused at the question. "Please, don't misunderstand me. I don't ask for something illegal in the Domain. I simply mean something of financial value that I can offer to my contacts, to get them to procure the items I would need to treat you."

Martha smiles, reassured again, nodding eagerly. "Ah! I see! I didn't mean to imply any illegality! I was simply uncertain about the nature of the alternative!" a happy smile, she had no idea what might have been open for negotiation, but seemed pleased it was all about the money...as she had seen the name of a song recently... "Well, that is more easily done...in so far as it shall be once I have established the required capital to fund the project!" she smiled, bashful.

"Excellent, I'll start enquiring around immediately," Doctor Powell swore. She seemed just a little jubilant, an emotion most likely stemming from the fact that she would be doing something again- something in her field, something that she truly excelled at. It felt good to be needed. "I'll need to take measurements, of course. When would be an appropriate time for you?"

Josephine was aware enough of Court by now to know that many other people might wish to speak to the Herald, and immediately may not be the best time.
