Sacramento had it's own British pubs, as did most American cities. Little spots of U.K. culture for those who missed their hometowns, and for curious visitors and Anglophiles to enjoy. One such establishment was the Bear and Crown, a more recent addition to the Old Sacramento area. Brick wall interiors, flat screens airing BBC shows or football games, dartboards, and even one of those red phone booths in a corner.

Thirteen and Aurora had previous discussed going out for drinks, so here the Acanthus was at this pub, waiting. She'd secured a booth towards the back, with a nice view of the place, and had already ordered for herself, with a pint and a basket of fish and chips. She could already feel the homesickness waning.
The Libertine was dressed as she often was: blue jeans and motorcycle boots, with her leather jacket and a black knit scarf folded on the bench seat next to her. She also wore a red and blue football jersey for the Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC. Her hometown's club!
Where was Jinx? One might spot a crow lurking about outside in a tree, probably grumbling to himself that he couldn't come inside and snag some chips!
