Stolen Blood: Into the Fire

Kylar discovers that it is difficult to disguise himself from view near the fire alarm. The only place out of sight would be inside one of the kotel rooms or he could return to the exterior staircase to hide from the front of the motel: although he would be visible to someone coming up the same staircase.
Kylar noticed that the hallway seemed quiet. His sensitive Mekhet senses did hear the sound of a game show in the room below. Then he heard the shout "Hey! Help! Kidnap!" from the direction of Otto and Alicia.

Otto and Alicia are admitted into the motel room where Otto's Clan mate is being held against his will. As they walk in, they can see Mr. Jake is standing over the prone from of a tall, muscular man. Otto believes that he and Liam saw this man at the initial meeting at the hotel suite for the Neighborhood Watch.

Mr. Jake looks pale and somewhat unhinged.
"As we told you, Mr. Aker," she says to Mr. Jake. "- the second test after being awake while being observed all day is to light a candle with this torch lighter."

Mr. Jake's eyes are wide with fear as he looks towards Otto.

Kristen looked to Otto.

"Do you remember why I wish to test this?

If he could endure this, we will have only one test by exposing him to an open cut."

Witnessing the man, or well fellow Kindred in this sad state, given she had done some bad things that might shock the ever living crap of some regular Kine´s back when she was still one of them, she had performed some experiments using humans sure but not in any manner like this. At least she never did result to torture, or well torture against someone's will. What those whom literally begged for it and thanked her for it had gotten was a different story. This was just barbaric, which luckily did mean there would be no need to feel any sympathy for any of them regardless of what would occur, given the numbers though and evidently more fire on the way was not exactly soothing thoughts.

Face kept flushed, hearing and sight enhanced to make sure she would not miss any small sounds nor any desire to be caught by a sudden wave of darkness.
"Not to interrupt, but only one you say? Then I assume you have already considered behavior modification by analyzing reaction through usage of organometallic compounds or similar mixed in with sustenance in properly placed containments?" Tossing a look back towards their fellow Kindred and back towards the Kristen. "Or microplastic effects on the endothelial cells, and surrounding areas with a focus on how they will react within this sample?" It wasn´t to deep but if they needed to buy time she would have to give something especially after being said to be the scientist here.

"Four can you figure out what she's saying? That's.. a lot." Kristen appears irritated.
The woman that she speaks to, Elisa, looks over to Alicia. After a moment, she states. "Yeah, we haven't done any of that. Sounds like some bullshit."

The mortals continue with their plan. Kristen has pulled out the torch lighter and is holding it towards Mr. Jake.
"You need to sit back down. You keep saying that you are innocent. This would be a chance to prove your innocence."

The lighter is an imminent threat in the hands of the mortal. Mr. Jake has a panicked look as he looks between Alicia and his Priscus, Otto. For the moment, he appears to be waiting. For direction from his Priscus? For you to do something?

There was the Beast knocking at the walls of his mind. Again. The indignity, the hate, the hunger. The only upside to it was that the twisting expression of revulsion on Otto's face might have convinced the mortals that he was truly disgusted with the target of their hunt, even if the opposite was true. Not now.

"I remember your rationale for the test, yes." The Priest replied briefly. "I'm a bit surprised at how you've been... pacing this whole affair." He glanced over at Alicia and was unable to hide a slight sigh of frustration at the Hunters' reactions. "Would you kindly wait just a moment? I'd like to hear the rest of her explanation." Otto tried to work his Clan's signature discipline on Kristen. They were mostly just stalling for time, at the moment.

Bullshit? Looking a tad offended by such stupid claims, did these hillbilly hicks know anything about actual scientific approaches, or the advantages proper data could be utilized for? Wait don´t tell me they are just a bunch of idiot amateurs trying to grasp fundamentals through basic level proof of understanding? That would be beyond dangerous.

Turning her eyes towards her ally and back towards the group of hunters, lightly shaking her head with a tuck of her hair behind her ear, softly licking her lips to turn it into a soft smile aimed towards them.
"I would be happy to explain the scientific rationale of my words should there be an interest to hear it?" Glancing towards the caught kindred and back towards them. "Albeit naturally my suggestions operate under the logic of gaining a wider level of understanding, and potential later on neutralization on a wide scale not just limited to a sample of one. If you are purely interested in a sample of one principle so are there numerous other scientific approaches I could suggest." Opting to leave it at that to avoid going far to overboard to quickly.

"Yeah, it sounds like you like the sound of your voice." Elisa responded to Alicia.
"We're doing a scientific experiment that has yielded excellent results. Whatever your saying was obviously designed to have a lot of words that those not well versed in science would understand easily. Do you not socialize with people much?"
Her tone towards Alicia is unfriendly.

Kristen has devoted her attention to the man who was fallen in front of Mr. Jake.
"We have been waiting. We haven't seen you in a bit." Kristen responded to Otto.
"Although you come into our operations and expect us to slow down and cater to you. If you want to help, help Michael stand up. The man that you're determined that we slow down for just violently knocked him to the floor."

Kristen is watching Mr. Jake closely and remains 8 feet away from Mr. Jake. The muscular man is still on the floor in front of Mr. Jake.

Kristen has some sort of way to not be swayed by Otto- at this moment, he notes. Otto notes that Elisa's eyes are now looking at him. The man on the ground is staring somewhat fearfully only at Mr. Jake.

Kylar noticed the sound of foot steps approaching. As he determines their location, someone is coming this way. They approach the same way as Kylar: up the staircase and the steady pace suggests that they will be walking through this area where Kylar stands. The person is now on the other side of the staircase on the exterior door. What do you do?

Not for the first time that night, Otto found himself growing irritated. Whether it was merely bad luck or true cleverness on the part of the Mortals, they were managing to evade whatever snares and distractions were thrown their way. Worst of all, his Clan's signature ability was having little effect on them. It was mildly humiliating and the Ventrue Priscus didn't tolerate being humiliated.

Right, no more mucking about. Otto gave an exaggerated yawn, covering his mouth with one hand and stretching the muscles in his other arm to make the gesture as obvious as possible. "Sorry... it's been a more exhausting night than I thought." It was a lie, albeit not an obvious one. The undead bodies of Kindred didn't tire as mortals did and even when the need for Torpor called on them there wasn't a need to yawn. He hoped that that made the 'signal' all the more obvious to their Mekhet, wherever he was.

"I didn't expect him to not be able to stand on his own..." Otto muttered, crossing the room a few feet to offer a hand to the man laid out on the ground. At the same time, he began to stare daggers at Mr. Jake. More precisely, he was hoping to convey a message to the Beast that was running amok in his Clanmate's mind. "You need to back off." He wasn't putting any supernatural force into the words, not for the moment at least. It wouldn't do for it to become obvious that he was giving verbal commands and Otto was afraid he had already started to tip his hand in that regard. If Mr. Jake lunged at him or made any other untoward movements, he'd change his reaction. For the time being, however, he focused on helping the man, Michael, to his feet.

Having to hold herself back from chuckling, if they found that level of beginner level science complex just how inept were they?
"Oh you know the life of those of us in science, our social skills tend to erode." A common enough cliché that most knew of it, especially thanks to some popular media.

Shifting her eyes over towards the man as Otto moves over towards him.
"If that is not what you are seeking let us simplify." Shifting her gaze back towards the women. "I am skilled within the scientific fields, do you have anything you would like to gain insights into that I could offer my assistance to help with?" With this level of arrogance they likely haven't gained squat beyond amateur basics. "Do take into account that I am skilled in actual scientific fields, not behavioral sciences. And more advanced than suggestions of what could be done would likely require some level of equipment."
