Nodding he reaches over and grabs the boards from the others at the table, be it his imposing presence or that such a striking lady was now going to playing no objection was given. "Uh. Yeah these things. They are double sided." And He will procced to show Sonnie the options. "Uh. No I don't think any of these are Chinese, there's probably an expansion though." Yeah why wasn't the great wall at least included? Well all of the base game was set in the Mediterranean so that might explain it. "Ah. Not like risk no, but there are military cards you can choose, those are the red ones." But no little soldiers or conquests.

The ogre being both cannibal and criminal, well cannibalism was in itself a crime but a criminal in addition to that was not someone who cared a dot for human concepts of justice. "Hm. What that makes me a grouch? It's just how things are. You want justice you have to define it and then go get it yourself." The courts were the furthest thing from just that he didn't need to explain. "Uh. But yeah ice cream would be good." It did get rather warm in these halls. And he wonders about that for a few moments before his attention is caught again and he is back in the moment.

Well eh had some recommendations fir sure, would he try any of them? who knows. Watchmen might be a dangerous read for the ogre, the villain had some rather devious and smart ways of going about things. A risk he might get inspired there. "Uh. Are all comic books about super heroes then?" As every example seemed to be, and his tone suggests he hopes it is not so.

He knew how lost could be, could get and all that so great shoulders shrug. Sonnie had said or asked anything out of the ordinary after all. "Ah. It's no worries. Had a part to play in making me who I am today and all that." Perhaps thinking she was apologising for his early life poverty.

Dumb monkey did her best to follow along with the enormous Ogre's descriptions of the game. A lot of the rules talk was probably going right over her cute head, but Sonnie wasn't letting that put a damper on things. She still nodded enthusiastically. "Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm."

"Ah, no China? Oh, well... Oooooooo!" She sorted through the boards for a moment before landing on the Statue of Zeus. "King of Asgard! Let's effin' go!" She may be getting her western mythologies mixed up.

"Ice cream is always good." This was a universal truth. Not to be debated.

The Beast shook her head. "No. Some are fantasy, like Conan the Barbarian. Or sci-fi, like Star Wars and Star Trek. There's horror comics, too. War stories, slice of life stuff, you name it. Super heroes do get most of the spotlight, though." Marvel and DC were the big boys for a reason.

Having played games, well one game, with the monkey queen before the giant has sufficient faith she will manage with this. He did, just about. "Huh. Is that what that is?" Had he just taken her word for what the statue was? It seems so, not so learned in the wonders of the world it would seem. Both might be getting a few odd looks. "Uh. But yeah different coloured cards help with different win conditions. These teal ones these are science ... I keep losing to science." Even when he tried to do it himself.

A half hearted nod in agreement, he can only split his focus on so many things at once. Food would always been one of those though. "Ha. It sure came in handy that time I ate those spicy chicken things." That memory burned, because well it had burnt everything it touched. Circe had found a way to make him even slightly cautious about certain foods. Not cautious enough to stop anything though.

Fantasy was more up his street. "Uh. What are the horror one like?" Sometimes stereotypes exist for a reason and well the king of fear is labelled just so.

"Uh huh," she muttered absently, paying more attention to the pretty artwork on the cards than to Kray's instructions. Would she have any clue what she was doing when they actually played? The world would soon know.

"Oh, buffalo wings are delicious!" Dammit, now she was getting hungry! Wings sounded good!

The Autumn King showing interest in horror comics? She was not surprised. "Oh, um...." honestly, she didn't read those. Not her bag. "Ever see Tales from the Crypt? That show was based on the comics. Horror comics used to be big sellers a long time ago, before superheroes really took off. But there was government censorship, gotta protect the kids from scary gross stuff, blah blah blah. There's some really unsettling manga out there, too." Japanese horror was a whole new level, in her opinion.

Selecting the The Colossus of Rhodes as his own board he continues. "Uh. And these yellow cards they do commercial things, stuff with resources, money and what not." In his experience that should win most things, money made things easier. But well he still lost.

He sticks his tongue out as memory of the foul burning things continues. "Bah. Those ones were not, they were nasty." His eyes had been streaming for ages afterwards. "Ah. I'll bet somewhere round here sells them if you want that." Like so many events food of many kinds was readily abundant, at marked up prices of course.

Shaking his head. "Uh. No never did see that one." Not everyone had seen every show after all. "Oh. yeah that." Eyes narrow. "Ah. No one wants to feel uncomfortable anymore, got to keep everything all safe." Sneering a little. "Ah. Does more harm then good if you ask me." A rant he had gone off on many times.

"Ah, the capitalism cards," she nodded at the yellow ones. Perhaps Sonnie was listening. Her focus was maintaining for the moment, anyway.

The Beast laughed, finding Kray's disgust amusing. "Good thing you weren't around for that time I made pizza. Hoo boy! That did not turn out well!" She giggled at the memory of that Spring Coronation, so many years ago. Ingrid had been Queen, then. She missed that Darkling.

The Steepscrambler couldn't claim to be a fan of censorship, either. "A lot of fun stuff gets lost because people got sticks up their butts," she sighed.

Sort of, more or less. "Uh. Hey there can be quite powerful. Then you got these brown ones those are resources and the greys are manufactured items." Okay maybe there was more to this then he had given credit for, might be why he kept losing.

Even though it ha been his misfortune, the giant does chuckle deep but short at the memory seems he has moved on sufficiently to be bale to laugh at it. "Oh. Dare I ask why I should be grateful to have not?" Not everything he consumed was nice, some would call certain elements inedible but his stomach kept it all down. Besides of recent times the selection had improved rather substantially.

Some of the other people at the table go about selecting their boards and keep setting up the game, not that it took to much. The giant for his part grants in agreement with the spring queen. "Ah. Fun and important." He had his own reasons for disliking the way society coddled itself. "Bah. Way to much focus on keeping people comfortable, and even that is lie most of the time." As close to politics as he dared to venture, that was usually more of a way to make people mad then scared.

Yellow, brown, grey. Color coding helped. Somewhat. Wait, what were the other colors again? Ah, Sonnie was certain she'd figure it out during play. No biggie.

"Let's just say that pizza should not be made with makeshift ingredients during a party, and without an actual pizza oven." Some lessons were learned the hard way. "At least nobody got food poisoning."

"If you get too comfortable, you get eaten," the Beast said, though there was a slight change in her tone of voice towards the end. As if she shifted from speaking philosophically to citing personal experience. She never looked up from her cards, however.

Well with that the game was set to begin the giant chooses his first card from the handful he has and passes them round clockwise ready to accept the new cards coming his way. "Ha. Hey if no one got sick it can't have been that bad." His iron stomach could keep down just about anything, not that it was always a good thing. "Uh. What did you swap in for ingredients?" There was some curiosity there. The beast as best he knew enjoyed a meal almost as much, if not on a level with himself, so food seemed like a good topic, mostly good topic barring certain culinary preferences of his own.

This statement gets the most focused and serious look form the ogre today, maybe the most he has ever given Sonnie Wu. "Bah. If you lose you get eaten." he is not disagreeing with the spring queen per say, more that he is adding to or responding with something, deep and ingrained a thing fundamental to the ogre that had been scarred into his psyche. And given they were playing a game his statement gets few alarmed looks. Even the giant mask has an inescapable air of menace that leads some to think he might just be capable. "Ah. I meant more in life, generally. Not you guys. Not over this." But no correction to the eating part that was still very much the consequence.

"I don't remember!" The Verdant Queen proudly stated. That Coronation was seven years ago. It was pretty unlikely she was going to recall such details. Meanwhile, she played a card, in what would either be a genius stratagem, or just silly chaos. "Probably some random bread, meat and cheese I found and slapped together. Ingrid put out a good spread." How had she cooked it, though? Did the Tavern even have an oven? Should Sonnie be allowed near one?

"You only lose if you get caught," absently spoke the fleet-footed monkey, her eyes busy watching the boards. Recon, or just fascinated by the pretty colors? The Beast blinked and looked at Kray, "Oh, life lessons. Do you not enjoy creature comforts?"
