Leylines are wonderous things blazing streams of gold and white earth energy roaring across the planet sometimes straight sometimes curving, or zig zaging some wide and mighty lie ka great river other smaller like a trickle but no less impressive.

In the ongoing efforts to map out these wonderous magical occurrences that seem as best as anyone can tell to actually be of the fallen world itself, various mages of Sacramento have been following them through the city where they may lead and adding the liens to a map along with any other supernatural information they can acquire such as gauntlet strength local ghost of spirt populations, cryptid encounters the entire kit and kaboodle.

Today the leyline the free councillors has followed leads them through a lively energetic flee market, a curious question in and of it's self have people congregated here influenced by the energy of the leyline or is it mere coincidence? regardless sleepers hustle and bustle with surprising cheer and good nature trading fresh produce, second hand books, hand made fortunate, services like device repair, bike fixing and so on. Food trucks and pop up café' also ply a fast and vibrant trade among the crowds, polystyrene cups of warm drink being a favourite of the day.

Gauging Gauntlet strength? No, not her bag. Go find a Shaman or Necro. Tracing ley lines, though, was something Thirteen could do. She was versed enough in the intricacies of the Prime Arcanum to be helpful in this mapping effort. And so it was that the Free Council Acanthus was here at the Folsom Flea Market.

She had come dressed for an outdoor adventure today, which is to say she was dressed warmly for this late winter weather. At least the sun was out. Her iconic motorcycle boots and leather jacket, of course, plus blue jeans, a grey sweatshirt underneath the jacket, and a green, knit-wool scarf with a matching beanie over that cloud of red curls. A cool pair of sunglasses shaded her brown eyes from the harsh winter sunlight.

Her helmet stowed in her black backpack, the Libertine browsed through a stall of old entertainment tech (radios, stereos, TVs, tape decks and record players, etc.) while also scanning for any ley lines. Thirteen was prepared for this, with a spell in place that allowed her to perceive these channels of Supernal power.

Meanwhile, soaring well overhead, was a crow. Not an unusual sight in the city. It was probably looking for dropped snacks or shiny objects.

The Warlock didn't have the means of detecting leylines himself though his Voter friend did and that works. He can help watch her back, his own, and even Jinx's if he wanted to... That would be the aide he'd provide, sentry and surveliance. He knows he's good at one and hopes that he can get a pass for the other.

He arrives at the Folsom Flea Market and takes a moment to find parking. He checks his pockets to make sure he's got everything, letting his sight slip from within his head to zip to the top of the truck next to him, glancing around for any sight of anything out of the usual as he makes his way out of his car and then towards the market.

He slips his hands into his pockets as he walks, not really meandering but definitely trying to make it seem like he is as he zooms his sight around, prioritizing finding Thirteen first and then anything unusual second.

With the spell cast and in her pattern Thirteens awareness is opened to the blazing paths of energy coursing through the area, skilled mages able to alter and tap into these fallen phenomena to achieve endless supplies of power. Shame it can't be done in such a way to provide to everyone really. The tech and repair dealer at the stall she is perusing scowls and winces although not seemingly at the enchantress as the screwdriver in her hand pauses its efforts, maybe a troublesome or stuck component.

Jinx would have ample opportunity to nap scraps of food fallen from burgers, hot breakfast rolls and other assorted keep warm foods. Shiny objects might be a little risker as they are usually attended but with some searching who knows what might be found.

Salem with his handy it pattern intensive awareness has easily the best view of everything around him from a variety of perspectives with his omni drone like vision. He is aware of course of his fellow libertine and able to mark her in the crowd, even if he was not the hair is a good give away. There does not seem to be any current distortions to space or dimensions he can say that with confidence. As for something unusually well, yes there is something that niggles at him as he watches its not unease but a sense of what? Deja vu? not exactly but its very similar.

Wits+Investigation to spend enough time watching to place your finger on exactly that is causing the peculiar sensation. And if either of you have any skills or spells you want to employ please do.

The Covert is the Almost Possible.

A common idea amongst the Free Council, that covert magic sort of fills in the gaps that modern science and technology leave open for now. They will catch up, eventually. So while it's not possible for a phone app to trace ley lines -yet- that didn't stop the Acanthus from mimicking such a thing.

It may have only worked for her eyes, but it still worked. On her smartphone, there was shown a map image of the area, and the Prime Arcanum superimposed ley line channels within her immediate line-of-sight onto it. She then made note of what she saw, drawing matching lines on the map for permanent reference. Not that such drawings would mean anything to a Sleeper if they looked at it. Just squiggles, really. Perhaps she took the idea of 'mapping out the ley lines' a bit literally, but it was kind of fun.

Jinx did, in fact, snatch the occasional bit of lost food, but shiny objects he left alone, for he was on assignment! Thirteen had given her familiar a task: Watch for certain individuals while she worked on this ley line thing.

Who, though? Three dangerous people. Two Hunters, MillieZapper and Rockwell, and one authoritarian cultist piece of shit, Jaculus. The crow-spirit had been given detailed descriptions, and crows were good with human faces. If any of them appeared in the area, he was to warn the Enchantress with a quick set of three caws.

The Thistle Mage looked up from her phone at the junk dealer, "Wee bit of trouble?"

With Sybil's Sight up, please let me know if I should make a reflexive Wits + Investigation to see if any of these ley lines (or anything else) has any weight of destiny to them

It doesn't take long for the Warlock to spot the Enchanter, that frizz of red hair making her stand out amongst the others around her. He continues to wander the lanes and aisles, stopping occasionally to look at something but he's making a less than lazy beeline towards Thirteen. He doesn't spot anything truly unusual in the angles and dimensions of the world around him but something seems off. It could just be shaking off the dust after being out of the field for a while but something seems familiar.. He tries to rifle through his memories, trying to find the source of that feeling.

Jinx keeping an ariel eye in the sky looking out for the known foes of the Consilium, those who would and do present a very real danger to the awakened of the city. With the occasional food related distraction. Flits perch to perch or taking to wing to get a better view, raises no alarms. Either the people in question are not present or they are sufficiently disguised, in the crowds or hidden that the familiars casual observation has not picked them out.

The repair girl looks up to Thirteen one squinting with the memory of immediate discomfort. "Nah just a headache all of a sudden." The screw finally gives and the back comes off an old FM radio. "There we go." The board of components and the backs of the speakers now plainly visible. Placing the device down on the counter of her stall. "So what can I help you with Ms?" Doing her best to give a winning smile but the wince is still there. Some of thirteens attention might however be drawn to the a metaphorical heaviness around the device as it's back came off, something that slackened a little once it was placed down.

Thirteen is very welcome to make that role to see if anything that has been said or done carries the weight of fate about it.

For Salem it is not in his memories but in his observations, in the precision of what is taking place before him. The crowds move with a pattern like behaviour, almost mathematical in it it's absolute adherence. Two leave a stall, shortly after two more move up to it and again and again. Easy to brush off as coincidence but with his vision able to see everything around when it is stationed atop the truck he is able to see these reptations events happen at several places around the market and always in sync with each other.

"Sorry to hear that," she sympathized. There wasn't anything she could do for the woman's headache, so she carried on. "Just browsin', really. Love older tech like this." Thirteen patted a VCR. The Free Council may adore cutting edge technology, but they didn't embrace it right away. Not all of it caught on with the Sleepers, after all. Zunes, betamax tapes, and probably this whole A.I. bubble were historic failures or soon to be. The mainstream was fickle. The Wisdom was in the tech that was widespread and reliable. So it was a wait and see situation.

That FM Radio, for instance, has been proven and accepted technology for ages. Libertines got on board with it pretty quickly, back in the day. It was new communications technology, like telegrams and the earliest telephones, that allowed the Nameless cabals to organize worldwide into the Free Council, right under the collective nose of the Seers. So, yeah, it caught the Enchantress' interest.

The Warlock continues his steps to meet up with Thirteen but his pace slows when he starts to see that pattern begin to emerge across the whole of the market. His head cocks to the side slight as he stops, making sure that his body is looking at something that he could potentially buy in one of the stalls and not just staring off vacantly before he zooms another look around. He does some mental math, trying to figure out exactly what the pattern might be.

With his Spatial sight not picking up anything out of the ordinary, he mentally prunes that sight from the combined spell that he has going and tries to open his Third Eye, if possible.

With her own senses opened and sharpened The words its just a headache ring in Thirteens own ears clamouring with importance. It's like on of those generic greetings, I'm fine, been well, getting by the kind of comment used to pass off longer more awkward conversations. Only this time it is not just a comment. It is not just a headache.

The junk dealer does mange something closer to a smile at the talk of old tech. "Is that love tied to a budget or just nostalgic for a world a good amount of us never knew?" Picking up her screw driver again. "Its normally pretty solid, better built then the fragile stuff of today. But even well built goes wrong eventually." Using the tool to indicate the Radio mid surgery. "Well listen to this." She hits the one switch fiddles with the dials and picks up a news channel. The ns flips around to show Thirteen an empty battery compartment. "I keep batteries out of everything, safety you know." Decaying batteries could ruin tech and pose a fire hazard in and of themselves. "But It's started get power from somewhere? This is a new one on me." Tentative poking at a few wires with the tip of the screwdriver, nothing sparks nothing arcs or burns and the radio continues on it's merry way.

Watching from his perch atop the van Salem takes a little time to work it out but 6 stalls or benches seem to be affect. 2 people walk up to an stall of candles and beads, and are replaced by 2 more each time they leave. 4 people go into the porta loos and 4 more join the waiting queue which is never more then 4. 5 People sit at a bench eating food from a food truck when they are finished they are replaced by 5 more. 6 people loudly call out their wares or services and 6 members of the crowd respond and leave in sync. What looks like seven people stand for a photo opportunity but Salem being good with number realises that including the person taking the photo is different each time as well, which makes a party of 8. And 8 more collapse when after they have moved off to do the same.

As for his will working by reducing the potency of one spell down to nothing he makes it easier to bring a new spell into reality. Burning gold in his pattern. And yes there is something of a resonance he can see now a gentle and indirect haze not something strong or with much force behind but present.

Scrutiny at -1 would be needed to determine it's quality at a rate of 5 suxx per quality

Back at the stall The repair lady winces and he hand knee jerks towards her temple before she can get it under control as another flash of pain clearly laces through her skull.
