"When I am next in New York, I will be sure to check out VIRGO. Some people prioritize different things. I like to travel because I like to see different venues. I am sure that I would be impressed by what you prioritize." The woman responds pleasantly.

"May I inquire what it is that you do, Thomas? Oh, a good idea. This is likely going to have people wondering about my hair later." The woman remarked with an upwards glance to refer to the rain. She followed Otto to the overhang.
"Oh, local gossip?" Her eyes dance, brightening her pretty face. "I would love to know more, Thomas."

Otto smiled at the compliment, feigning a friendliness he didn't truly feel. There was an art to blending in with kine, and while there were plenty of evening that Otto wondered if he was starting to struggle with grasping that simple human connection, he could at least manage to pretend to be interested. At least, he hoped he still could.

"I'm in finance." It hadn't been true for decades now, but it was a lie that he'd become very comfortable telling. "My boss sent me out West to see if I could drum up business in a new location." He took a half-step closer to the woman, not quite enough to be noticeable but he was patient. Besides, the Kindred wasn't ready to pounce quite yet. "I'm a little surprised you haven't heard about it, but some folks have been organizing neighborhood watches. Rove around in groups, surprise people and shine lighters in their eyes in the name of 'public safety.' I'm kind of surprised they haven't gotten more attention from the police."

If Otto looks, the street around them appears to be empty. The person he had spotted earlier has departed. The rain lets up, giving the night a hazy air.
"I am not surprised." The attractive woman replies. "I am new in town. I don't know anyone besides my great aunt, and she is not one to walk on the street." A friendly smile. "She is more of a fancy orchestra lady. She is only ever with her one friend. And those fans of hers."
The woman does not seem alarmed by Otto's proximity.

The Priest resisted the urge to lick his lips as he nodded along with the conversation. At least not everything going wrong around here is common knowledge. His thoughts were a light balm on his worries. "Well, just be careful when you're around here. It's usually a pretty safe town, but weird things have been going on lately. Ah, there's something stuck to your shoulder. Stay still."Otto drew closer without waiting for a reply, sure that his Discipline would keep the woman in place long enough for him to slake his thirst.

The Kindred has been keeping a domain awareness on the night around him. He has noticed that the original curious person who appeared had moved on.
Otto moves into the space of the Mortal and slakes his thirst. He manages to drink, how deep would he go?

The Priest slaked his thirst and even supped a little deeper, but he was careful not to drink too deeply. She was a target of opportunity, but she that didn't warrant getting greedy. And if she was as well-known as she claimed to be then anything drastic might cause alarm.

After drinking his fill and letting the Kiss work its dark wonders on the woman, Otto stood by to grasp her attention as soon as she regained some degree of mental cohesion. "...like I was saying, there are some odd sorts around here. Talking about ghosts and stuff. Hmmm... are you feeling well? You look a little... disoriented?" He feigned sympathy for her for the sake of the Masquerade.

The night ticked by in beats of the mortal's heartbeat. She was responding to the Kiss. The mortal's eyes dropping and her body responding in a sluggish way.

There's a beep. Insistent. She twitches and checked her forearm, where a device was chirping an alert. She fumbled with the buttons that were similar for a biometric exercise tracker.

"I... I don't feel well. I believe that I am going to call for my car.
This... This silly thing my great aunt insists..." She trails off as she squints down at the beeping device.
"It was a good talk.' She said politely, slightly tired.

"A car will have been dispatched."

"Ah, sorry you're not feeling great. Take care, alright?" Otto responded, continuing his feigned sympathy while he waited for the young woman to depart, veins pulsing slightly with the warm trickle of Vitae.

The night ages around Otto. A luxury sedan pulls up and a gentleman in a dark tailored suit helps Otto's conversation partner into the vehicle. The night sky begins to lighten and Otto decides it prudent to move off from the street. Yet he had forayed out into the night... was it worthwhile?
