Fugly gets adoration as he is cute, naught will stop that. Though she can talk shop plentifully.


"Fair description of that tool Devon," she politely describes it as such in public. "Butterfly knives are similar in capacity or storage, but showy." And required a certain level of skill to really show off with. Something Circe didn't condone. Doing such spins with guns as a recipe for dying stupid.


A Bowie knife? "Very American that," she nods in agreement. Good for wood working or survival skinning too." Which was what it was designed for. "Personally, I want a Rondel style. Punching power for, uh, scrapping. Prying into stuff with it will be easier. Kind of goes into how you want ot use it. Punching," she relieves Fugly of a hand to start counting, "Qater. Chopping?" Another finger goes up, "Khukri. Parry? Mainly Gauche, oh ho ho ho!"


Yes, Circe turned it into a pun. "I've a forge and am intent on making my own Rondel headed tool. Scrap steel is easy to find, so I can certainly make you smoething nice."


And it'd give her practice. Maybe some drive to not put off making the Rondel bayonet.

With an audible 'Pop!', the Darkling pulled the ice-cream out of his mouth and stared at the Summer Queen for a moment. He spared a look at Mina as she scavenged the cooler, mildly curious about her own choice in frozen treat before returning his focus to Circe. "Don't let me put you out." He said, trying to maintain an unenthused expression as he evaluated the Queen.

"I'd be interested in anything you could cook up, truly, but I wouldn't want you to go out of your way purely for my sake." The truth was, he didn't want to feel indebted to the Sovereign of Winter's rival Court. Even if Sacramento had been much more harmonious than Los Angeles, it wouldn't do for him to freely make deals with the Summer Queen without thinking things through.

"I just know that a knife can be subtle, or it can be good at fighting head-on. There's not much in-between." Sven was actually selling himself a little short, knives were about the only weapon he knew much about, but he could identify several use cases for them depending on the variation and craft. For the sake of this sales pitch and conversation, at least, he was content in boiling them down into 'stealthy' and 'stabby', and he already had a stealthy pigsticker.

The Spring Queen grinned at her sole Courtier (because where the hell was Jasper, anyway?), and shrugged. "I encourage you to try to prank me, Dollface. You'll just have to try harder than that."

She watched the Elemental exit the water, then shrugged and resumed floating about in the river. There was happy humming.

Meanwhile, Fugly continued to enjoy being spoiled by all the attention from Circe. It was good to be an weirdly adorable dog. All the pretty girls just loved you.

She wasn’t sure what the topic was, so she picks out a strawberry ice cream, puts her sunglasses back on and settles in. Clearly enjoying the warmth of the sun on her skin.

An eyebrow raised at Sonnie from behind her sunglasses, “Hmmm, I might, I just might.” Taking a bite of ice cream, “Or I could be lazy,” shrugging, “guess we’ll have to see.”

"Okay, subtle doesn't match with the bigger blades." She declares to Sven. "Like a Bowie Knife, think Rambo knife that ate its greens, steroids, and Rambo's." That was a good summary of how a Bowie Knife compared in size to a regular survival knife. It really was. "A parrying dagger is kind of mid. It'll go with my own project, so yay on that I guess. Plus, totally law as a self-defense blade, it is made to parry and such."


Circe really should get to work on that project. Especially before her next Hedge venture. Sure, AP rounds would be much better, but it was a good idea for a backup. Or spiteful final stab, she is a Summer. And her advise on the legal issue of the knife was, well, she didn't know. She didn't look up knife laws.

Sven faintly recalled holding the massive Bowie knife that Kray had lent him on their expedition into the Hedge. As colorful as the Summer Queen's description had been, it didn't seem like she was exaggerating very much. The sharp hunk of metal had felt just a few steps removed from a machete, especially in Sven's hands. "As I said, don't put yourself out on my account. But I'd be eager to see what you'd be able to cook up on your own, so if you could manage a parrying blade at the same time, I'd love to see it." The Darkling finished his popsicle and stared wistfully at the water. Summer is coming soon, isn't it? How time flies...

More fun was had, as the Changelings frolicked on the beach! Ice cream was eaten, water was splashed, bikinis were ogled. And Spring came to a pleasant end.
