At this rate, I may have to consider just buying a computer. Loathe as he was to admit it, Otto Schneider was behind the times. It had taken him longer than most of his peers in Clan Ventrue to embrace smartphone technology, and even that was only because the outdated flip-phone he had stubbornly held on to for years had finally broken down. But he had somehow managed to avoid investing in a personal computer. He had rationalized the decision as both needlessly expensive (even though he could comfortably afford one designed purely for business) and redundant. After all, his associates had hounded him for years about how modern phones were basically handheld computers.

And yet he found himself at the entrance to the Sacramento State University library again, in part to use their computers. When he had visited the same location months ago, it had primarily been to consult whatever books there were about local legends and folklore. Now he was trying to check social media accounts and consult public records in the hopes of gaining insight into the ghost haunting the local park. At least a home computer and printer would allow him to do this kind of research within the peace of his own Haven...

Determined not to let his grousing distract him from his investigation, the Priscus focused on recalling as much relevant information about the deceased as he could manage. With his mind on the task at hand, he pushed open the door, offered a brief nod towards whoever was at the front desk, and started towards the nearest unclaimed computer. If they wanted to stop him, he would attempt to gently persuade them otherwise before proceeding.

There was a bank of computers in a central area of the library. These computers are within ten feet of the librarian's workspace. The work space is an enclosed counter area with inset desks for the librarians to work.

There are three open computers. Two young students are quietly typing on the two outside computers.

Relieved that he was not being accosted by any of the library staff, Otto settled in at the nearest unused computer and started searching. If there was one benefit to the gradual erosion of privacy in the modern age of technology, it was that it was easier than ever to try to find someone on the internet. Now, how many people named 'Alaric' could there actually be?

Otto worked on the computer for a few minutes. Hos research provided that there were two people who used Alaric.

One had no posts in the last three months.
One had a fairly good amateur photo of a red rose bush posted yesterday morning.

A shame we have anything in common. The picture of roses caught the Ventrue's eye. Otto would follow-up with that particular profile, noting any relevant personal details this 'Alaric' had posted as well as any close relations. Prior relationship status posts or pictures of him alongside young women would draw the Kindred's eye as he tried to glean as much useful information as he could from the profile.

In the next thirty minutes, Otto manages to find a single photo of a brunette woman from one year ago ago posing with Alaric in a arms around one another that seems to suggest a couple. The Alaric in the photo was the man that Otto had met at the Park.
It was the year anniversary almost to the day that the supernatural occurrences at the Park began, Otto realized. The name tagged with the woman is Ashley Frances Grey.
Otto would need to expend more effort to find out any information, which would need more computer rolls if he uses the computer or Academics if he researches another way.

A lead. Finally. I hope Charles Babbage is burning in hell... Not for the first time, Otto believed that he had succeeded in spite of modern technology rather than because of it. Now that he had a name, he could really focus his efforts to discover more information. Next of kin, last known address... Anything to get some insight into their suspected victim.

Otto discovered that this information was not commonly recorded on social media. It could be possible that someone who had more computer knowledge would be able to find exact last known address. Alaric did not discuss family online and nobody tagged him in stories.
Oddly enough as Otto researched through posts, it would appear that every six months there was a a few pictures of Alaric alone. Although there was a cropped picture from a little over a year ago with a woman's hand on Alaric's shoulder. No details on the woman could be seen in the cropped picture.
By the time that Otto has studied these pictures, he did note that they all appear to have been taken in public areas of Sacramento that were popular for dates
