A day at the history museum

Eidolon surveyed the group, his gaze lingering on each of them in turn. "He is correct," he affirmed, nodding towards Chambers. "Whether it's a medium peddling illusions or a curator presenting a selective view of history, the aim is often the same: to shape perception, to encourage a particular belief or understanding."


He then addressed Asclepius directly. "As for your question, about belief and delusion – sincerity doesn't validate falsehood. If someone believes they can fly by flapping their arms, their conviction doesn't negate the laws of physics. Similarly, belief in something without evidence, or in defiance of it, is a form of self-deception. And while necessity may sometimes be the mother of invention, attributing progress to exploitation is a dangerous justification for unethical practices."


Turning slightly towards Skye, who had rejoined the group, he acknowledged her earlier points. "Aella astutely observed the constructed nature of these historical snapshots. Just as a modern influencer can curate an online persona that bears little resemblance to reality, so too can photographs from the past be staged or selected to convey a specific message, obscuring the complexities and contradictions of the time."


He paused, his gaze sweeping over the remaining exhibits. "Ultimately," Eidolon concluded, "our task is not to passively accept the narratives presented before us, whether by self-proclaimed psychics or museum curators. We must approach all information with a critical eye, questioning the context, the intent, and the potential for manipulation. Only then can we hope to glean a semblance of truth from the carefully constructed facades." He gave a slight nod to Skye's comment about the time. "Indeed, perhaps it is time we moved on, armed with a healthy dose of skepticism."

Looking back longingly to the images that had captivated her so.
”History study it or be doomed to repeat it, study it and learn that you will likely never get an accurate image due to falsifying, propaganda, and downright lies.” They certainly didn´t make it easy.

Nodding and walking back towards the images one more time, stealing a final glimpse of them, trying to comprehend what about them had been so captivating to begin with, what about them drew her in. Not wanting to part, wanting to spend just a moment longer, but knowing they had no such time.
”I fear so VS I fear so.”

Forcing herself away with clear glances back to the images.
”Thank you all for coming today, it was fun to get the chance to spend a day out with you all. I am sorry I got so lost for a bit there.” Exiting, ready to begin her long walk through the city before returning to the quarters, or maybe a trip to the quarters to change first.
