Feeling pretty proud about that one. "Uh. Thanks." It had been a good mood. But the spring queen sure wasn't throwing in the towel and her random unpredictability punched a hole in the ogres plans helping her even up the board state.

A scowl darkens the ogres face, not sure where things went wrong there.

Its a fair point in pledges. "Hm. Got to have some knowledge of the other party." But many Lost and hobs respected their pledges. "Uh. Or know your loop holes." Which did most certainty exist if they could be called such. But he is not forth coming on that. "Ah. Alright then lets see what you've got." Knowing enough to see he had lost momentum and the director had a chance to steam roll him here.

Sonnie's head tilted to one side, curious about the Ogre's last move. It didn't seem to accomplish anything. Was it a mistake, or some part of a larger gambit? Heck if she knew. She also wasn't worried about it. Just make a move and hope for the best. The new Vernal Sovereign was nothing if not optimistic.

"Sure, sure." She replied distractedly as she looked for some sort of super smart move to make on the red-and-black game board. "Can't say I know Sven at all. But if he really wants that coat, it seems safe to trust him this far." Leave it to a Spring Courtier to believe in the power of Desire. T'was the season for it!

After a long couple of minutes, Sonnie moved one of her checkers. "Ta da!"

And there his lead went. "Ah. Good move yourself." Still annoyed at himself for letting it happen but the spring queen had taken advantage of it really well and in that unpredictable way of hers.

Grunting. "Hm. Yeah this will be a interesting test for him to be sure." A way for other freeholders to know if the darkling was trustworthy enough to pledge with or not. "Ha. Yeah well stranger things and all that." And the wording bouncing around his head had a few holes in it at first glance.


But then he sees it the line to finish the game. Using his last few remaining pieces he does precisely that. He plays and he wins.

Picking up the last of Sonnies game pieces in large grey hand. "Hm. Well played. Very well played." It could not have been any closer.

Sonnie stared at the checkers board in surprise as the last of her pieces were swept away in one fell swoop. Her eyes blinked slowly, her mouth hanging agape.

"That... was... AWESOME!" The Spring Queen leapt to her feet and applauded Kray's victory! "Congratulations! Great game!" No sarcasm here, her cheering was genuine! "Thank you for playing! I did my best!" She was proud of herself for at least making it close.

"I sure hope everyone else gets into the spirit of the day and try some of the other games!" the Beast proclaimed, before scooping up her plate of food and moving to rejoin the rest of the coronation party. She was the belle of the ball, after all, and she couldn't hide in a corner playing checkers all night!

The jump to her feet had been unexpected and exuberant it would seem the spring queen is not a sore loser certainty. "Uh. Thanks." People normal cursed when he won, usually because he had either hurt them or cornered them in less then legal dealings. "Uh. Yeah good game, you did well." Rather then rise he instead reclines hand now reaching for the cooling dug hat he had left to one side, unusually not having eaten anything while he was playing. "Ah. I don't mind manning the board if anyone else wants to come and play." She indeed had guests to greet and move between. The Ogre then will stay at the game board, challenge open.
