Otto remained silent as the Reeve continued probing the kine about their organization and goals, trying to look casual as he eavesdropped from a distance. Now didn't seem like a good time to insert himself into the conversation, but he was prepared to approach if that changed. He gave a sidelong glance at Mr. Jake in case he had any input but otherwise kept quiet and focused on Helen.

"Yes, there have been incidents."The woman nods. "I'm Kristen." She introduced herself to Helen.
"Can I show you something?" An iPad comes out as she opens a tab. There is a composite of two different newspaper articles and a posting on "Sacramento Buzz" website. The title of the article on the website is "My friend walked off with someone and lost time."

"Yes, we're organizing. No, no donations.

I'm calling our group the Grove neighborhood watch. We started in our little apartment complex, checking in on neighbors. The first thing is to realize that a stranger is a stranger.
Do not walk off into the night with them or go somewhere private when you have just met. Take steps to protect yourself, such as a selfie with them that you can send to a friend who knows that you're out.
The next thing that I advise is to do a little vibe check on if they seem like they're trying to get you to go somewhere. Having a drink in a bar can be a nice night, right?"
An easy, natural smile is given to Helen.
"Yet if they are trying to get you alone, there's a chance that they have ulterior motives. The big thing that we're reminding is buddy system and not to be manipulated into being alone."

Mr. Jake stands quietly. He does not move. He managed to be unobtrusive.

[Helen Kingsley]

"Nicole."

She offers her hand to Kristen. Show something ?

"Yah, sure." Helen looks at the stuff on the phone, shortly going over it. Well, great. "That sounds like there's new sorts of roofies going around. Yeah, that's a pretty good reason to stay cautious." She frowns. Nights are just getting better and better...

"Sounds like dating security 101, really. Buddy system is good. These other folks part of your group or some other chapter you've linked up with ?"

Otto could stop himself from taking a sharp breath as he heard woman identify herself as 'Kristen'. Good thing I've kept my distance. He hadn't mentioned the woman by name when he'd updated the Reeve about the activity surrounding the haunting at the park, but he was reasonably sure that this was the same mortal that had assisted him in an attempted exorcism. While it sounded like the group wasn't currently focused on outright supernatural matters, he wanted to make sure Helen was on the same page about how potentially dangerous Kristen was.

The Priest reached into his pocket and quickly typed out a short message that would probably seem innocuous in isolation. Otto just hoped that the Reeve had her phone on vibrate.

Met her before. She knows more than the average person

The mortal looks Helen over more closely. "We have been working with folks. If you are interested, send me a DM. I am meeting people tomorrow afternoon. Yet I need to get back to my friends. I will look for you around, Nicole."
The heavy set man checks his cell phone as he and the woman walk towards the van. "Jenny wants us to come over, says she is talking to someone who had a drink with a handsome man yesterday and then she felt sick this morning." Kristen hands Helen a business card listing 'Kristen Mort' and an email address and an address downtown. The two look to be continuing their patrol activities.
What do you do?

Helen does the prudent thing in the situation: She ignores the phone for now.

"Will do. Thanks a lot. You guys are doing the good work. Keep it up."

As she takes another sip of coffee and turns to leave, she tries to sneak an unobtrusive glance at the van's licence plate.

Once it was clear that the kine were wrapping up their activities for the evening, Otto tried to take a quick photo of the most noteworthy individuals in the group as well as their van for identifying information. He was not a skilled photographer, and the lighting conditions could charitably be described as 'poor', but the Ventrue at least made an attempt to gather information. So far, all he'd done was eavesdrop from a distance. Reeve Kingsley and I will have to meet and compare notes as soon as possible.

Helen would need to attempt to get a look at the van before it pulled away. As she was trying to avoid notice, she would need to make an effort. Otto was able to take a photo of the group and van from a distance. The two Kindred had been made aware that Kine have formed a group that had a shared goal. What would Helen and Otto do in the following night? This would behavior would continue if no one intervened. Would this be affecting the Kindred of the Domain?

The scene is wrapped, Helen can post the roll to VTR questions
