The day was fast approaching. The Spring Equinox.

As much as she didn't want to admit it, Sonnie Wu knew that the Wyrd was likely going to crown her as the new Queen of the Emerald Court. Already, she could feel the imposter syndrome kicking in. That was Seraphina's position. Sonnie was her Claviger. That's how it had always been! Until this year. Things had changed. The Fairest was gone, away on a quest. It was up to the Beast to pick up the pieces and keep the Court functioning. It was time to move forward. Fixing up the Tavern had been the first step. She had done what she could in a short span of time, and it would have to do. Next up: A new outfit for the coronation!

Not just a new outfit. A Hedgspun regalia fit for a Queen!

So, here the Steepscrambler was, in her personal Hollow, the Treehouse. She sat upon the floor, the interior still bare bones after all this time. Behind her, Nimbus, her cloud mount, bopped about in his odd manner. Before her, a set of supplies. Red cloth and black leather, bits of golden metal and white fur, several needles and rolls of thread. Strong leaves she had gathered from the Thorns were also piled there. These, she would spin together into a set of armor!

As with her previous Hedgespinning work, Sonnie began by reciting a story. No one was present to hear it except Nimbus and the Wyrd, and that was fine. "This is the tale of how Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, gained his iconic outfit. It started with a tiger skin loincloth bestowed upon him by the Dragon King Ao Ming..."

The Beast continued to recite the myth, as best she could collect from scattered and varied accounts, as she rose up and began to strip off her clothing. Jeans and tee shirt and even underwear was tossed into a corner, until she stood completely naked, athletic body on full display, amid the crafting materials. Closing her eyes, the Spring Courtier continued her tale.

10 successes

The Wyrd responded, story and items whirling around the Claviger, in a circumstance of Hedgespinning involving actual spinning! The cloth and thread and leather and other items began to merge together, and clasped themselves to the Beast's form. Faster and faster, fae magic and myth combined into a new shape.

When it was over, Sonnie opened her eyes and looked down at her body. It was complete. She was garbed in Hedgespun armor, styled like the depictions of Sun Wukong himself. It included the tiger skin loincloth and a long red scarf! To mortal eyes, she now knew, it would just appear as a red leather jacket, but the real thing was far more impressive!

"Fuck yeah!" she jumped up in the air, excited! Turning about, she presented herself with a fashion idol flair to the little cloud. "What do you think, Nimbus?" The fae mount didn't speak, he never did. The way he bounced, though, told her he approved!

Or maybe he was just responding to the attention. It was hard to tell with a sentient ball of water vapor.
