Night Moves Ch 1 First Contact

The night is young, the shadows are now lengthening log enough for you to go about your night. As you move down the street, you notice a large sign with an image that is twelve inches by fourteen inches mounted to a permanent notice board outside of a gas station. On the sign is a high definition picture of Verity Carmen's face. The words under the picture are Please Help. The image is taken at a distance of about twelve feet and from the side. The notice board has a plastic paper holder with flyers with the same image as the sign. There are several flyers on the notice board.

You hear a voice stating "There is an epidemic of people being assaulted or kidnapped. Stay vigiliant and do not leave with strangers. You can meet us tonight at this location at 10 PM."
You do not see the person saying this. There are four people walking by in a group who look around as they pass the gas station. They pick up a flyer and walk by, looking at it. Two people exit the gas station together and glance at the sign. They look around at hearing the voice repeat the message. The two people remain standing there, looking confused.
On the ground, a flyer floats by. You see Verity Carmen's face once more. Looking over the flyer reveals that it states 'Come help your community. Log onto [Q code] Truth is Power discord and hear how we are going to take back the night from monsters'.

Oh no, what did she get herself into while I was gone.

At the voice Neville looks around, there is no one there. Something is going on. The two people look at the sign and are seemingly also confused. Neville pulls out his phone and checks the QR for the information.

The two people move closer to the sign and study the sign. "Is this real?"
"She looks real. She's lovely. I wonder if she needs help."
"What about the meeting tonight? Think we should see if we can do something?"

As Neville looks around the area, the message repeats. "There is an epidemic of people being assaulted or kidnapped. Stay vigilant and do not leave with strangers. You can meet us tonight at this location at 10 PM."

Following the code leads to a write up.
I witnessed a brawl between five people at a local hotel. I heard screams from women saying that they were being kidnapped. I met an absolutely lovely woman.
I gave her my phone to call her friend. Yet the messages and evidence that I had on my phone have vanished from my phone. I have met a person who says that there are a group of people who are hurting locals. He said that we can meet him here and he'll tell us the truth. He says they're monsters.

Rebecca Dawson was falling in love with Sacramento all over again. It had been a looong time since she walked her streets. Some of the buildings remained standing even to this day. The changes were so pronounced now, but evidence of another time still remained. The landmarks helped Rebecca navigate the streets a bit more easily. Rebecca was dressed casually this evening. She was scouting out good venues for hunting purposes when she came upon the sign.

Rebecca saw the sign and it opened up her eyes to the unfortunate realization that Priscus Carmen's fuckery had only just begun. Oh goody! She saw Mr. Godwin and recognizing him from headed over to him. This was certainly peculiar. She noted the QR code and Neville all quick like on his phone. She didn't hesitate to ask. "Omg! It's so good to see you!" She didn't use his name. She wasn't sure what he used outside of court. The salutation was a distraction for the humans prowling around like the hardy boys supernatural edition.

She looked at the sign and made a face of disgust. "Ugh. They must have left this stupid thing up after Halloween." She shook her head and motioned to it. "It's ghastly." Was she low key trying to tone this whole thing down? Absolutely. She glanced pointedy at his phone and grinned like they were old friends. "What are you looking at?"
