"Well consider me impressed upon." Marcus mused with a long look at Rebecca. "Heavy indeed but I do respect your knowledge....Would you teach me how to do these things without dying? What is the learning process like, given the small numbers of dragons in the domain?"

Clearly she had Marcus' interest, and his tone was moving into the realm of belief, curiosity even. As the Roman leaned back he seemed to be weighing the concept with the utmost concern.

"Yes I can give you the tools you will need to attempt the change with a much higher success rate." She paused. "Noone can guarantee that success, except for yourself."

She sat back sipping her beer as they talked. She made it look natural. It was clear that Rebecca spent a lot of time with the kine. The efforts she went to to appear like a human were quite pronounced.

"One of the first things most new Dragon's learn is how to control their Vitae, to make it work more efficiently for the Kindred in question. I do not require as much Vitae to awaken as you do as a direct result. It was the first change I made to my condition." She held up a finger.

"But let's start with a more basic exercise. The first thing my mentor taught me was how to correctly observe changes in an environment that is always changing and shifting. Kindred society is not suited for this experiment. Nor are observing Kindred. Kindred are largely stagnant and many of our order spend as little time as allowed with other Kindred." She paused, and finished her beer, glancing down at the empty bottle, like, where did all the beer go?! Before setting it on the table.

"I am asking you to spend an entire week where you do not interact with any Kindred at all, and spend all of that time talking, eating out, going to pool halls or whatever turns you on, to interact with them. I want you to catch the rhythm of them. They will teach us how to be in the moment-to-moment-dynamic-flow, that to humans is effortless."

She paused a minute to let that digest.

"The largest lesson that you must learn before you begin work with the order is to show an ability to understand change. To follow it. Catalog it. Observe but be not a part of the experiment. I suggest you look up the scientific method as this is what the order defaults to for experimentation and calculating findings." She paused again.

"Change must be observable to be of any use. When a new Dragon is given their first lessons, the focus is not on the Coils of the Dragon, not on the history of the covenant, but on simple, mundane observation."
