Innocence Lost Chapter 3 Stakes and Woes

Marcus followed along until they were in a masquerade safe space, following suit with Seneschal Hazelton, he gives a deep bow to the Prince and a slightly less deep bow to Jennifer.


"I came upon this poacher in (name) park. There were loud screams that drew myself and several other Domain members to the scene who happened to be in the area. We found two bodies at the car. Several did nothing. Whip Dominguez wrestled the poacher down in hand cuffs while I hid two bodies in the trunk of the car in case we were discovered. Those bodies are still in the car currently parked outside. Whip Grey caught the woman who was still alive, I am unsure where she has been taken. During this time the poacher now prisoner was tied up in the back of the car while Whip Dominguez guarded. The Reeve was called and we met in the barrens. Whip Dominguez left after the Reeve arrived. The Reeve attempted to stake the prisoner to bring him in..."

Marcus spoke no ill of the Reeve. Obviously the stake didn't take given the wound on the prisoner.

"The Reeve had other things to attend to. I then contacted the Seneschal, and brought the prisoner here. I circled several blocks on the way, and circled here three times before parking so I don't believe I was followed. I also believe we acted fast enough to avoid police notice on our end. Unsure about what's happened with Whip Grey. Despite his current demeanor, our poacher tried to convince us to forget your laws and live as he does. He was rather disrespectful of the idea of following a Prince, but it seems he's had some instruction in proper behavior given his change in attitude."

A nod of Acknowledgement to Jenn, then a raised eyebrow, “Indisposed? In what way? I hope it’s in a way that excuses her from preforming her duties.” Or there would be consequences.

The prisoner was overlooked for now, his presence wasn’t important…yet.

To her Cousin, who seemed to have more of the story as to why her evening had been disturbed. Sounded like Breaches were becoming more and more common these nights.

“So Miss Grey has some random Kine somewhere in the Domain, and you have two dead Kine in your trunk?” a slow nod, “Well those will need to be handled before the night is over.” She was fairly sure he knew that, but sometimes it needed to be said. Would he know how to dispose of the bodies, or was it something she was going to have to handle as well?

Her tone flat, unamused, “Seems we need a class in staking.” It wasn’t a hard thing to do.

And then it came, a cold, calculated smile, one of a true Apex predator, turned to the prisoner, “Does he now? And disrespectful? Seemed respectful when he saw me, why the change in attitude?” head titled slightly to the side, “Change of heart? See the errors in your way?” her tone was calm, maybe…too calm? But that smile stayed.
