Corn utilizes the distraction of the various lights and sounds to slink deeper into the not-so-thick darkness of his own creation.
    failure

but his efforts are not particularly effective. Without mage sight on, Phoenyx and Philip disappear from his view.
Why Phoenyx got only Philip?! he wonders. Is @Salem doing something I can't tell as magic fires left and right?

With whatever cover the darkness and confusion affords him, he turns to fate to provide a little bit of good luck to get out of the situation. (Read outmost eddies as a rote)

    Nimbus

Dark shadows scatter in ordered symmetrical patterns traversed by a crackling pallid silver light that wraps Winter in a pleasantly numbing and icy coldness.
When vulgar magic is cast, the frequency of the oscillation of the dark fluid surges until the shadows arrange themselves in a solid black halo around Winter's head, the white light darkens into a fiery black sunlight and his eyes are set ablaze with vivid incandescence.

Phoenyx moves herself to the wall to stay out of the way of possible sleepers, and watches.

Since none of the others had accepted her offer, and she didn't want to have the same issue she had with Puck many moons ago of inflicting an unwanted spell even if it was in their best interests, now it was only a matter of time before one of the Prideful needed her assistance from her invisible shroud. Winter she expected to have a plan, but Corn and the unknown Mage might need help at a moment's notice.

Philip was stuck in a sort of limbo, as he often was. He knew the seriousness of the prophecy he`d cast earlier and yet, several of his fellows didn`t seem very enthusiastic about escape. Still, he tried to stay as close to Phoenyx as possible as she seemed to know what she was doing- and he was desperately holding on to whatever had worked. Winter meanwhile drifted out of his consciousness pretty much completely, becoming incognito, unnoticed, not a concern at all. Corn and Salem meanwhile remained passive as the gloom around the group seemed to increase markedly, giving Philip a dark sense of foreboding as further cops replaced the blinded one. Corn`s plan with the falling object had been doomed to failure in Philip`s eyes, anyway, so he wasn`t surprised when it had failed and no further attempt to succeed with it had seemingly been made. And that was although Philip had at least been moderately- if morbidly, curious if it had a chance to succeed anyway, and what the consequences of success would have been.

Still, Philip didn`t really know what else to do himself and he was arrogant enough not to go looking around for the cops and the general situation this time, so sure was he that Phoenyx`s will was enough to shield him. At least for now. Still, escape was paramount, but together with the others and they weren`t budging. So he contended himself with adding further spells to his pattern while waiting for them, re-casting his Pulse of the Living World rote from the safety of Phoenyx`s veil using quietly whispered High Speech and Quantum Flux aiming, and getting rewarded with a quite potent spell as he seemingly twiddled his thumbs waiting for something to happen.
    5 successes

Philip will attempt to follow and stay close to Phoenyx, *if* he can perceive her presence through Sybils Sight somehow. If he cannot, Philip will stay to assist his fellow visible mages in facilitating their escape for the time being.

Winter occludes himself much as Salem has, making him harder to notice and harder to recall once he slips the awareness of those currently aiming guns up the staircase. Although both images have woven spells of sufficient potency that noticing them even standing next to you is questionable at best. Now would it be enough? Something much less of a problem for Phoenyx and Philip invisible and soundless as they are even to each other, the only real concern being when is a good opportunity to slip out or when should they intervene?

Corn rather screwed it would seem turns to fate but even it can only do so much and staring down 2 ... no wait 4 guns as two more armed officers enter the stairwell that tiny nudge is going to need to wait for an opening it can actually use.

"Got One suspect." An officer at the back of the four speaks into a radio. Answering the question to how many of the mages were actually sticking in the officers awareness in the darkened stairwell.
"On your knees, hands behind your head." A second one of the officers, one in the front of the squad barks at Corn.

The first officer, making five in the staircase case total is still grasping at his eyes and a third of the four moves over to him to take stock of his condition. "Hey you good?" Trying to pull the others hands back from his face to examine the issue.

Everyone has disappeared or left... Was Phoenyx even around any more?
With several angry policemen aiming at him, Corn doesn't have much leeway. He complies with the police, going on his knees and hiding his face as he bends, lowering his head, with hands behind his head, trying to use the shadows to further obscure his face.
"I wish someone could help..." he says, not too loudly, not silently. Hopefully, he didn't give the others out - the ones that escaped, or whatever they did, but if they were in the area, hopefully, they would listen.

This is whole evening has been a demonstration in incompetance. At least Winter and Philip have enough awareness to think on their feet.

Fighting the security wasn't an option without revealing herself for Corn. They had radioed in suggesting more guards on the way. If Corn was taken, they would have to infiltrate a van or the police station. It needed action now, ideally that could incapacitate all the guards at once.

She had one real option she could think of, and the Arrow fervourently hoped the people here were not the same caliber of asshole as Puck. Controlling the sound meant the sounds never left her person, but that did not matter to the mystical language of Atlantis. She clutched her magical tool and made sure all the Security were in her field of vision. She had never tried something like this, but the needs were dire. If it worked, they would all be asleep.

Of course, it requires Salem and Corn to stay silent until she could shroud the pair of idiots. I hope they have at least some kind of ability to react to the opportunity.

With Salem also not on his mind, only Corn seemed to be a concern. Although he was annoyed that Corn had apparently quietly asked for help from him and his fellows, and he hoped that didn`t give anything away to the cops. So, Philip wracked his brain trying to come up with some way to help Corn, but not really finding anything helpful he could do, under the circumstances. He also tried looking around for the first time, amid his thoughts. Tried being the operative word, though.

Please keep your mana update both personal and bestow invisibility has a 1 mana cost which would leave you at 4, Sound mastery (cast twice) has a 1 mana cost leaving you at 2, improv life spell costs 1 leaving you at 1 and the mana to make the spell did not need to be sympathetic. You have have 1 mana left.

The number of vulgar spells does not impose a penalty on spellcasting, they increase the paradox pool as seen below. But the -1 would apply from spell tolerance so the dice pool is correct.

personal invisibility + sound mastery - 1st vulgar
Bestow invisibility + sound mastery - 2nd vulgar
trigger automatic function - 3rd vulgar

    Phoenyx's paradox pool

    Base 2
    3rd paradox spell +1
    Tool -1
+2 sleeper witnesses to vulgar magic

(edit) This goes to show that yeah paradox is complicated with a lot of factors, I missed one, a disciple level spell gives -1 to pool

    Paradox pool = 4
Paradox pool after edit = 3

    missing paradox dice failure

Sleeper witnesses to vulgar magic 1 success

Paradox has 1 suxx , this is not enough to reduce the potency of the spell.
Edit: Remove the last dice of the paradox pool does not change the number of Suxx on the paradox pool.

    Havoc paradox:
    4 targets , 9 applicable targets

    Havoc targets:2. Officer, 5. Corn, 6. Philip, 8. Salem

Corn, Philip and Salem don't need to roll Stamina + Gnosis to resist going to sleep because he spell unravels, see below.

Winter begins to carefully exit trying to not draw attention to himself as the potency of the spell helps eyes slip over him and memories fail to stick. Salem has the same idea using the same method.

Corn complies with the officers demands

And Philip caught in the middle of a very tense situation tries to get a better look around but with all the flashing lights, reflecting beams and rapid change of pace is unable to pick up on anything.

The flare of the Arrows nimbus unseen to the sleeping perception does not reveal her invisibility and her silenced sound a way to safely invoke the high speech of Atlantis, the abyss yawning wide between her and the tower of the golden key is cruel and ever waiting to infect the works of the awakened twisting the spell and sending the glyphs bounding out of the arrows control to target friend and foe alike.

The orange glyphs blazing into existence for those with the sight to see them around the targets.

It is perhaps the cruellest jest of all or a blessing in disguise that her spell has not even the time to work her will upon any of the targets as the abyss works against itself and the quintessence present with in every sleeper unravels the spell even as it comes into being.

    unravelling 2 successes
The glyphs shattering into nothingness unseen by the officers but the Obrimos feels the sting of her efforts so close, in theory possible just to much stacked against her in this moment. Or a moment of Hubris as her own internal monologue comes back to haunt her.

The officer unaware that anything has even transpired send two of their number up to hand cuff Corn unless he resists.
