Corn is walking up and down in the small cell he uses as his home. This is too much, I can act, I should act! He thinks and starts to Chant in High Speech to give power to the ritual he will use, along with ashes and pieces of lead as Sacraments to start the ritual to reach through space, through tough wards and bring Cloud home...
No! They expect that! You got so many people to help you, don't blow it all up!
He stops. He starts pacing again. He gets the book Skye gave him, reads a few pages... Perhaps if I ... the thoughts start to form, His awakened will starts the process of forming the imago for the tracing spells...
"NO!!!" he shouts to the emptiness.
"I will not be rush. I will not add to the delays, God knows what they will do to my boy, but I will not act impulsively." he explains to the image in the small mirror, the man with the sunken eyes, unshaved.
I talk to myself now... not a good sign for someone that can do as much damage as I can. Am I even worthy of all this power I hold? Three Sleepers dead. My boy missing. My wife lost all her relatives, including me. Would Winter be right to kill me? I was about to set a sanctum on fire because ... I don't even remember the reasoning any more. Pettiness. Hurt feelings. As if they didn't have the right to defend the place. But from what? For what?
Something in that line of reasoning clicked. It pulled his mind from the dark places it was spinning towards. He was, at heart, a Mystagogue.
But he was too agitated. He puts calming sounds on his laptop and lies on the small bed he has been using since that meeting with the Arrows, some of the arrows as the word-sticklers would say. Talking about seeing the tree and not the forest... and he tries to calm down, to empty his mind, to meditate.
It takes two hours for him to come out of the hole in his thoughts.
But did he? When he tried to cast Quantum Flux, it required no less than four tries, as the Imago shattered the first three.

But finally, he had the concentration required and the little boost from fate to find the right moment to act - powered by the Atlantean rune he scribbled on the back of his left hand.
Ironic, in a way. Something he should have noticed before he was able to cast the spell is that looking for the right moment to act, or to speak, gives better results than overwhelming amount of words, especially when you're confused. He has messed up so much in that consilium but thankfully, his fellow mages were not going to hold his son accountable for his mistakes. But as people said in that meeting... did his input even help?! Or he made things worse by confusing everyone? Willing to help and actually helping are different things.
Cloud... do they even feed you properly? He felt himself tearing up.
No! Back to the matter at hand. Focus on what you are trying to do here. No surprise the spell didn't succeed three times in a row.
Focusing inwardly, and timing the effort correctly, Corn first took a few notes of the situation in that house in the Fabulus Forties, the Wolf in Sheep's clothing. And it took effort.

It took a few minutes, but Corn jotted down what he could remember.
Then, came the part where he would write it all down, is detail, to inform his fellow Mystagogues about what he had witnessed. Things like describing the resonance of the place, the lack of paradox when the ghost acted, that they couldn't dispel the Ward but it did work although it was not supernal magic, how the human mage looked like, how he was dressed, how the place "felt" to his senses and his mage senses and even comparing the resonance to what other resonance looks like. Then, he throws in all the theories he made with his deep knowledge of the occult, while in that place.
The report he writes is clearly divided to Introduction, where there's a short synopsis of what went down, Descriptions, where he details what he witnessed including what his fellow mages did, that library he didn't get to search, and the larger part: Discussion and theories where he meticulously writes his own conclusions and theories, before ending with a small Follow-up section where he suggests further investigation on the matter and why. He adds there that he has "probable sympathetic connections" that he could use in future investigations.
If I survive saving Cloud from whatever I got him into...
And it was back to pacing, and restraining himself from lashing out to Apport Cloud from wherever he was, triggering all the conditional spells or powers involved.
