Guru wasn't sure he quite agreed with that approach being a blanket, especially when governing matters of the lie. Though one would still be compensated for that as well he supposed. Being the Junior in this situation though he followed the company line. Which meant keeping his mouth shut which he was perfectly capable of. It gave him a chance to focus on his own breathing to get his body back under his own power.

A nod was given about emotional responses. "People's motivations, passions, these are complicated subjects for me." He offered with a laugh, he was in production not distrubution for a reason. "But I understand reward and punishment, though most systems focus on the punishment end. Studies show positive reinforcement works better it's just more difficult to employ." It was said coldly, detached like he was reading something off a label. "I'm not surprised there, but remember what motivates one can break another. Are you familiar with Prince Rupert's drop?" Giving his college the space and respect to not assume one way or the other.

And Skye came upon quite a fungi, Guru squat down himself to get a closer look as Skye started explaining the things to look for. "Ridging is one of the major identifiers, it's also a good way to see their spore patterns which is another." He got up to let Skye stomp them out and pick up on that last question. "It's not exactly fast acting. You'll know, you'll have time. Plus the point of toxicity is influenced by body mass. Catch it early enough and a simple milkthistle treatment will do you. Otherwise, you're probably looking at a lot of activated charcoal in your future. Not going to be a fun hospital stay. "

Taking a look upon the worker of stone.
”Whilst I do want the lesson, to improve in that field so do you not need to force yourself to hold to it. It is always just fun to share in fields that you enjoy and where the knowledge is one that should be freely passed.” It would be nice to learn some proper cooking at long last though.

Picking the mushroom up with the help of a secondary stick to turn it upside down with a display of the stem and underside.
”Take care to recognize how the stem is curved, with a brown part around itīs bottom and more buff higher up, and this fragile pale ring around here. And if this alone would not be enough.” Raising the mushroom to her nose for a light little inhale of itīs scent. ”So does it have quite a mealy scent, and these gills of pale cream. They will turn more honey colored and ultimately a bit rusty as the season progresses, but we are quite early in the season. However fortunately so is it not the most common one, nor is itīs similar one the most appeasing for foragers. That one can be identified by a more pale cap center, and darker rim, but if you are unsure so well either ask someone or leave them alone.”

The intellectual talk between the two still one she would opt to simply stay out of, not sure she would have much to offer without proper time to really think things over to maybe give some nice insights.

    Looking up at Guru.
”Yes how could I have forgotten the spores, see these here they are broad and covered in small warts, yet another sign of why one should stay away from these things, you really know your stuff Josh, itīs really fun to get to see this side of you today I have enjoyed it immensively.” About to get into the answer of the treatment but stopped my Guru with an appreciative smile. ”And luckily so is death not that common from it, but the price to pay is still highly discomfortable but now.” Showing the mushroom to Mason until he would feel down then tossing it down on the ground and stomping them all into smush. ”So lets carry on, lets see if we cannot find some a bit deeper in, keep your eyes open if you see any.”

Starting her backwards skipping once more, fully loving the trees around them and just move around as if in her own backyard.

He was slowly, slowly getting his breath back. Still a ways off it and the ride back loomed as something he was simply going to have to endure when it came. "They are complicated for everyone." Offering his best attempt at a smile to the Sharman. People are far from simple. "Even reward and punishment is more complex with people." It was not as easy as food and toys. "Some will seek reward, others will seek to avoid punishment." Hellfire preaching provided that well enough. "Others are motivated by gain, altruism, or a host of other factors." But can still be boiled down to a lengthy short list. A shake of his head. "No. I can't say I do." That the information had not been forced upon him, instead respected is something he does note and appreciate.

Skye gets a look up from the mushroom. "I said I would and so I shall." Respecting the right exchange of knowledge and holding to his integrity. Eyes squint a little at the concept of freely passed knowledge. "Anything worth having should be something you exchange for, things freely given are not valued or respected as much as those that have value." Right exchange was not popular he was aware but it sure did work when done right. And I am no free councillor to hand out information that might be mis handled, even the simple things are just practice for the larger.

On that front as skye begins to explain his focus will return to the mushroom looking carefully as she points out factors of the fungi and how they would change. "I see." So quite a few points to consider then. Now Guru and he did not have an agreed exchange of information. But given it was a clear topic of interest for the Moros, the shamans good will in sharing would mean Guanxi would undoubtedly come into play. "Right fatal if you don't have treatment." Still good to know.

Their talks something she had a harder time getting into still, nor did she really want to dig her heels to deeply into topics to force them to have to guide her in the talks when she had less to offer in the moment. She knew what drove her, what mattered to her and what parts did resonate within that had to be enough for now but interesting things to follow up on at a perhaps later date.

Eyes looking upon Mason with a kind look upon her.
”Our minds differ Mason, I see where you are coming from, the meaning behind your words and why you see it like that. Still my views is to rather share in what can be shared, then keep that which should not closer to heart, it all depends on the knowledge in and off itself.” A light shrug. ”We were raised differently, comes from different walks of life, I doubt we will ever be able to fully see eye to eye on the matter, only respect the others viewpoint. Yours is one to value, and there is no fault within it, it is just not a path I would utilize but see no fault of agreeing to for those that prefer it.” Simple as that, they were different no need to not respect that. And some information should certainly be guarded. ”It shall be highly enjoyable, lets just avoid boiled potatoes please.” Lightly chuckling at the little distracted words.

    Nodding.
”Possibly fatal yes, a healthy body can certainly survive and recuperate but I would not take the gamble in vain. Deaths from them are somewhat rare at least, never tested the theory out myself or have a deeper insight but I do think most healthy adults stands a chance to naturally recover at least but gambling with ones life for such little gain is just a fools errand.”

Skipping onward backwards, up some trees, jumping and running with a feverish wild energy making her hard to talk to or even be close to without some serious effort for a while before jumping down a branch with a wide smile upon her.
”Come, come I found something.” Spinning around to rush over to a little patch with a fallen tree, leaning down to gesture toward some yellowish mushrooms. ”Now this is a rare find.” Gently taking one up to raise before them. ”Early autumn and a bit into the winter season is the best for these, I doubt we will find any that grows up trees to my size just yet but give it a couple of months.” Showing it before Mason. ”Observe the white undercarriage, the yellow to orange almost electrical overhue, its appetizing fungusy scent.” Letting him inhale if he so should wish then turning it upside down. ”Look at these small pores here underneath, the lack of gills. Along with the bright sulfurous yellow color.” Pointing to the tree ”And how this is a hardwood tree, that is important to keep in mind as tehy mainly grow on hardwood trees to help decompose them, now they might be found on pine trees as well but if it is on pine avoid it. Its not deadly, but might cause digestive issues.” Turning the mushroom up. ”Itīs smooth to slightly wrinkled top, even if these are mostly smooth, the bright yellow and wavy edges its semi circular form and how it grows in overlapping clusters. Along with its lack of a proper stem, only a false one but it does in fact not have a real one, this is hmm.” Tapping her head for a moment. ”I actually do not have a clue what its real name is but it is generally called the chicken of the woods. It is quite a tasty treat, but does need to be prepared to eat of course. If we come back in a few months so can we probably find ones that grows to my size or in larger clusters but we are still early in their season so this is probably the extent we might be able to expect to find this time of the year.” Stretching out the mushroom for Mason to take, to do with as he pleases whilst leaning down to start going over which parts they could pick and what parts were better left alone for now.

Guru took a step back as Skye presented the fungus and its attributes to them. He knew of the funeral bell but knowing what to avoid was generally where he stopped there he'd never really noticed the smell of it before, something to file away for future reference. "We boiled reward down to a single avenue though. For most." He held up two fingers and scratched them together as Skye finished her demonstration on the funeral bell and they continued on the trail. "And when we get down to that level you lose me." He offered with a laugh and a shrug, most of the time you offered people enough money and they'd capitulate. "The Prince Rupert's drop is an interesting phenomon. You take a drop of molten glass and rapidly cool it in water. The shape should resemble something akin to a tadpole. The head of the bead will be indestructible by most conventional means. You can shoot it, you can smash it, you can squeeze it in a vice. But crack the tail..." He explodes his hands outwards, "explosive destruction."

He would say it wasn't a rare find but given their location he wasn't about to correct her. "That's the Laetiporus I mentioned earlier. Yes, the chicken of the woods. You can actually cultivate these, I have a couple logs rotting so they can take spores. " Guru looked down at the mushrooms and up at the sky while the other spoke of coming back in a few months. He was trying to do some internal math to see when this batch might spore again so he could come collect them. This is why foragers could be so secretive over what they found and where, too many collectors meant no more fungi. Though Skye was dead on in her description which is why he'd been particular about the kind of logs he'd used. "We'll have to talk about the mycelial network some other time, that's less of a foraging topic."

The talk of reward and punishment was one to catch his interest no doubt as he managed to pull himself into a posture that might actually resemble standing straight for the first time with his breath coming back slowly, he watches guru mime money. "You see that is very curious." Because while yes greed ran the world, it was not uniform not yet. "I take it you have never been to India, or tired to offer money to a Sadhu?" Sure some would take, some always would but it had been a wonderous surprise to find many Indian families, and wise folk took offence when offered money. "It is definitely a modern way of thinking, but in places were the world still feels its roots more keenly I find not always so." Egypt had been different again, money talked there far more so, but not so much as names. Then Guru commits what this Moros has taken to calling a Corn, freely sharing information he had neither agreed an exchange for nor expressed an interest in. We need to have some serious talks about reigning that in as a whole we don't need complaints about a more then one member of the order over sharing. One was to many already in his opinion.

He should not be and is not surprised that he and Skye differ on their stance on giving. It's funny until he met Corn he would have considered himself on the liberal side of mystagogues, given how many of the order horde with an jealous fevor that would put kleptomaniacs to shame. "Indeed we do." Pushing the issue only risked unnecessary fractures or going in circles. Still he would not be one to manipulate or take advantage the orders precepts meant a great deal to him and he would live up to his end. "No boiled potatoes I can do that." Not really a compliment to many mushroom dishes so that should be easy enough.

He will move over as she calls out her finding taking in the sight and features of this new mushrooms. "Fungusy smell?" Wouldn't that be like calling anything by its scent? That one is beyond him unfortunely. "This is one mentioned eelier correct?" Something Guru does confirm for him. Other wise giving his attention over to listening and taking in the lesson.

That's 30 days so time to close and good to get it into continuity before the Consilium meeting tomorrow thank you for the scne both it was very enjoyable
