"Thank you, Ms. Dawson. I do love to wear quality jewelry. I often give jewelry as gifts for special occasions. I have given a gift of jewelry recently to Priscus Carmen. I do wonder if you shall see it being worn. In the Invictus, wearing a Gift is a signal that one supports the one who gave the gift.
In the Florentine Code, black and green are attributed to the Nosferatu Clan. In formal events, I nearly always adhere to the Florentine Code. Although I recently wore a lovely blue ring as a signal of support. I do not think that the Mekhet Priscus noticed this, yet I believe Priscus Carmen did notice.
That is unfortunate that you were dismissed due to your Clan. In the past, there was a Kindred who was considered one of the Pillars of the Domain. The Former Priscus of the Daeva, Twist, wielded power with precision and grace. A true Duchess. I imagine that you will face no presumptions among those who recall former Priscus Twist.
I understand what having a mentor can do for your knowledge. I gather from what you are saying that your mentor helps to teach you vital information and guides you further in the Covenant. Within the Invictus, a potential member seeks to impress a Sponsor who will mentor the protégé. I support such tradition. A particular lineage?”
Jennifer smiles.
“I have a keen interest in learning about different bloodlines.”
“I can tell you a bit, although some involved the Covenant matters that I was not privy to. Dirt Nap welcomed an unaligned Priscus Durant into the Ordul Dracul. He helped her somehow and then wrote letters to the leaders that Priscus Durant was the leader of the Covenant. J.C. and Priscus Durant were helping me with an investigation at the time. I did note that they became close. Then there was suddenly some sort of fissure between Dirt Nap and the other two. Those two left the Domain. Dirt Nap was called on Covenant business in another Domain.
Whip Raúl, of the Gangrel, was a part of the Ordul Dracul with a quieter member who I have not seen much of late. Then Losh arrived. I have spoken wit Losh and find him agreeable. Although he has been absent, which creates problems. I have spoken with the Whip and find him to be a trustworthy Kindred, as he has taught me skills in the past.
I am curious about what you say about your acknowledgement. Priscus Carmen arrived in Sacramento and was the only Kindred of note. There was a Ms. Stacey Clarke, yet she did not rise above the faceless masses. This would make Priscus Carmen the Priscus by default. I do remember something about Priscus Carmen complimenting Ms. Clarke during the event at Lotus, before Priscus Carmen’s emotional fit.”
This expectation of who was Priscus and when had been clearly established by the Alder Prince in a meeting. Listening to the Daeva, Jennifer leaned forward slightly. The information was shared freely, which Jennifer found refreshing. Jennifer had shared information that she believed would help Ms. Dawson. At this new information, her interest was piqued.
“I do not wish to make you uncomfortable, yet I have some concerns. Could I hear more about your thoughts regarding the behavior of the Priscus of the Daeva?
My interest hinges a bit on the expectations of Kindred in the Domain, which is enforced with an Oath that Prisci are supposed to have an acknowledged Kindred swear.”
Jennifer remained composed, yet her keen eyes were on Ms. Dawson. Was that message heard?
