And then the double standards come out. After all every kindred in the domain had judged her immediately, comments had flown around the court from the highest to lowest after a single blunder and here this little jumped up no body is nearly half a year in and showing he has no clue of what respect is.

Knowing what she is about to comes with immense risk, but would draw the spotlight where it needed to be.

Because there were expectations that came with the title and the vaunted fifth clan head was conspicuous by his absence as he had been for all courts bar the formal affairs since the Daeva arrived.

Thank goodness someone who sees sense intervenes, her respect for the Reeve is growing. "I find myself agreeing with the Reeve's sentiments, it isn't just his clan his lack of respect reflects on." And there had been no intervention from his covenant either. Because if standards are going to be paraded around as the ideal then lets really dig into that shall we.

“Sounds like you are quick to throw judgement on those in excellent standing within my Court.” Slowly, very slowly, she leans forward, dark eyes looking into Verities, before a calculated, predatory smile appears.

Standing, and leaning in slightly, but making sure her voice carried to the room, “Since that is the case, I expect a public apology from you to be made at the next Formal Court, to each of the Clan Priscus. Including yourself for casting judgement and assumptions from the high pedestal you place yourself upon.” She holds her gaze for a few more moments, smiling once again, but this was a cold one.

A nod of respect was offered to Jennifer Hazelton and @Helen Kinglsey . Verity was not given a second look as the Savage made her way out of Court, Cain at her heels, but he does cast a look over his shoulder. Gabriel opens the office door for her and closes it.

Just because they don't like to hear it doesn't make it any less true. A stark reminder why the so many kindred do not choose the Invictus. Why they are not worth choosing.

The punishment was not unexpected she had walked into it knowingly. That was the point, to paint the double standards for every kindred in court to see. Not that it was honestly expected to do anything but there it was in the open now. "As you wish your grace." Its not like working herself hard, helping catch one of the Hamleigh sisters, getting reports going, being the only kindred to meet the expectations that came with being a Priscus or taking the initiative to begin independently investigating problems had actually done anything for her anyway. She does bow as the prince leaves, she is walking a dangerous line she knows that. but is not trying to be suicidal. But no words are said but she does offer some. "A pleasant res of the night your grace." And once the door closes takes her seat again.

With some weighty decisions to mull over and no desire to wonder into a second mess tonight. She remains in the seating area, listening to Neville get pulled up for a third time tonight and wishing Priscus Baker had actually levied any kind of punishment against the little upstart.

The Daeva having sat in quiet silence contemplating what had unfolded, observing all. Well this was certainly a break from the norm wasn't it. Things had happened life fire crackers going off one after the next the water was roiling and plenty was up in the air. Each exit had been noted, the Reeve stepping in and threatening punishment. I wonder how that will play out.

All in all August seemed like it would set the tone moving forward for a good many things.
