The two-story salon had an artistic styled sign across the entrance with the name Lotus. The location of the building, nestled on a walkway near other artistic venues, suggests Bushing would be advised. The lighting within the salon allowed one to see the space, yet was dim. When you move through the entranceway, a walk-in coat check where Liam waited to accept coats and accessories was to the left. The next door led to a small room with a few seats along the wall, yet mostly open space. This space was where ghouls and proxies were sent while business was conducted. A small hallway with two locked doors led to an upstairs area, reserved for a small office area for managing the salon.
Liam leads guests as they arrive down a hall. You leave behind the rooms that most of the members of the Invictus have visited: the small yet well-appointed study. The meeting room specifically designed for gatherings of the Invictus that had hosted the Oath Swearing ceremony of Whip o’Brien. The medium sized room with some artwork on the walls to reflect and converse on. Two large glass globes with small openings at the top were just before the hall. Within these globes, lotus flowers floated in clear water.

You arrive at a small ballroom. The room was appointed in finery and spared no expense, decorated tonight in green and gold. There are expansive brocades of gold and green silk draped over the walls. A low table bore small vases bearing roses, alternating pattern of a red rose to a white rose.

There is great room to stand in the center to converse. To even dance. A look around reveals a long table with a green tablecloth set up with some floral strands of white roses. There are trays of small delicacies: one held colorful macaroons. One held small glass figurines of various roses. One held small, exquisitely embroidered hand fans.
There were two sitting areas: one facing the hallway with seats for six in comfortable arm chairs, each arranged for conversation. There was another sitting area on the far wall, with seats for four. There was a basket set on a table by the door to the ballroom with a small sign: Place your musical selection here

Verity got dropped off by Taxi at one of the other near by venues before making her way to the Lotus Salon. Focusing on sending false life through her body as she approaches. Well aware that Mr. Waldorf at least had contacts who had told him of Losh's coming to this place she expects to be seen and consequently wants to be seen well.

The invite to short notice to put a full outfit together Verity has gone for one that she had ultimately rejected for Formal court but she hopes will serve well enough.

Neat boots with a short heel Hug her calves. The Trousers and Belt on pockets are worn to cover her legs and provide utility respectively because both are mostly hidden under Her skirt Her top half covered by A tight, strappy dress and accented by Lacey tie up Gloves that cover her entire forearm. The first colour that isn't black goes to the Matching Coat and waistcoat Both also have lacey effects. When the coat is removed and handed over the shoulder straps of her dress can be seen and display Golden roses repurposed earrings, she had simply pinned through it. The outfit so far fairly safe. The risk comes with what she wore on her hands. The right 5 black rings chained to her wrist on the left four chains link to a ring on her middle finger, which as all five nails are is capped in silver. Heading up Larger, single gold roses pierce her ears and larger still help keep her hair in place which has been wrestled into a respectable drape down over her shoulder style. Much like her outfit at formal court the gold is cheap, the lace is fake for those with wealth its clear Verity does not hold it in any great abundance. Yet she walks with pride, adorned in her creation.

It's been a long time since her last visit in Lotus, but at least the dresscode is relaxed enough to allow her not to feel like she's dressing up. Which is kind of a plus. A minus is the wording of the invitation. no offensive stuff, no profanities. Not that she can't see why, it's just she's not too sure where jennifer draws those lines. Pretty spongey even without the whole covenant thingies involved, too. Eh, most of the stuff in her collection is thus left where it is. Helen's not notmally the type to worry too much about stuff like that, but yeah. She's a bit fussy about her own place, too, after all.

So she makes her way to the event's location and lets Liam escort her inside. She doesn't bring anything for the wardrobe, just what she's wearing and a few CDs. Her attire is basically her going-to work/getting off work stuff. Trainers, jeans, t-shirt. The color of tonight is dark blue.

Helen puts her contributions into the basket.

Looking around, she spots Verity and closes in.

"Sup. How's things been lately ?"

Jennifer stepped into the Ballroom, Liam two steps behind her. Jennifer was dressed in a manner that departed from usual fancy dress. The Nosferatu was decked out in a manner of leather jacket with embossed patterns, designs of zippers and rings adding a style. Her shirt was black with scrolling gold words. Black pants and gold strappy sandals complete her outfit.

Jennifer paused at the entrance to look over the guests who have arrived. Her Beast reacted to the new Beasts. It was Ms. Carmen's who drew her Beast's ire. Jennifer had spent more time with the Daeva in the past weeks. This helped her in soothing her Beast back into her Cage.
Liam perused the music basket and offered Foo Fighters, Learn to fly. Jennifer gave a nod of approval and Liam departed to set up the music.

Jennifer steps into the ballroom, striding with confidence to Ms. Carmen and Helen Kingsley. Dark brown eyes move over Ms. Carmen's outfit. She was well practiced in looking for subtle messages in design, color and accessories. Her eyes are appreciative over the outfit that the Daeva had chosen.
"Reeve. Ms. Carmen." Her Cursed voice slithers like a serpant over decaying autumn leaves. "Thank you for attending my little music party."

"Ms. Carmen, you must tell me where you got that eye catching skirt."

Foo Fighters begins to play over the speakers.

A sense creeps over Verity, a sense that things in the room were moving, dark things. She braces, eyes close, focuses on the music for just a moment, pushing her beast down having a strong suspicion who and what would await her when she turned.

A smile graces purple lips and she bows her head, This kindred did hold office after all. 'Reeve Kingsley.' Straightens up. 'It's wonderful to see you out and about.' Someone I haven't spent any time with outside of court or the offices. 'Things are going well all in all.' A few missteps, a few lessons learnt, but I think I'm doing enough to make good on it. 'And how have you been? We haven't had a proper chat since.' Moment to think. 'Your office I believe.' Given you walked on the Seneschal's summons.

Speaking of Verity bows again, lower, this was a kindred event after all, as the seneschal makes her entrance. Bracing as the voice slithers out in welcome. I never can be fully prepared for that. 'Thank you Seneschal, for the invite.' Of course I would come to something Musical. Stands again. 'Fantastic choice by the way.' In reference to the music playing.

For the benefit of Jennifer's highly skilled knowledge of the fashion world, this is very similar to the last formal court. Only less elaborate, with less daring extras. Verity has covered most of her skin, allowing only for a some slivers of her shoulders and upper back to show. Inlets past the layers and accessories. Colour is more muted mostly black with the exception the coat and waistcoat, those being red and her few gold coloured accessories. Verity does seem to leaning fairly hard into the gold rose symbol. Elements of both archetypically male and female clothing are present and hidden practically with the belt on pockets. The hair style seems more so it can be managed by the one pin over the several she used in court. All in all a more cost effective, less flamboyant variant on her court attire.

Verity is learning fashion for sure but the main thing she picks up is the strange juxtaposition. That her she stands in cheap finery and her less then uniform ensemble of formality. While the Seneschal seems to be representing high end and expensive looking rocker/club wear. Might have misjudged this a little bit.

'This?' Verity pulls at the fabric with her right hand a little. 'I ordered it off of Amazon.' Unabashed, she couldn't afford high end clothing or a personal tailor but would she use them if she could? The piecemeal outfit spoke more about her then anything else could offer. And who knows where they sourced it from.

As her song comes on she instinctively taps out the tune, metal clad fingers on her left hand adding a metal on metal click as she does.

"It is a pretty nice ideal and music's something that likes to come up short otherwise. Thank you for the invitation." Helen replies, wondering if there will be anyone else turning up or if it will be just them.

"Ain't that something. That's good to hear." Always good when people do well after all. "So-so, some unexpected twists and turns lately.Slowly getting back to normal." Not that it wouldn't have popped up anyway, but she'd thought it'd be another 10 years or so until then. Ah, well. She looks over to where she suspects the speakers.

"One of yours ?"

The respect that Ms. Carmen paid is noted by Jennifer. She inclines her head towards the Daeva, an acknowledgement of the respect. Respect was a prominent piece of Jennifer's Danse.

The dark brown eyes look over Verity's choice of ensemble. It was important to Jennifer, as assembling an outfit takes time and tells about the person creating it.
"Amazon has some amazing pieces." Jennifer appreciates.
Would that work on me? I am unsure.

The Nosferatu nods slightly at her fellow Nosferatu.
"Music affects nearly every one in some way." The Cursed voice slithers.
She says little else.
There could be things that I would like to say, yet not in front of this audience.

"My speaker?" Jennifer clarified, looking for a clear understanding of what the question was.

Unexpected? of course that catches Verity's attention. 'Would be it be prying to ask unexpected how? Reeve Kingsley?' Baiting a socialite like that, it would have been a miracle and very out of character if Verity hadn't asked.

Chiming in. 'Music both affects, and expresses.' The genre, the lyrics, why it affected you. 'It can communicate things otherwise inexpressible.' That had been true while she lived, it had gotten a little harder since she died.

'The song? Yes one of my mine.' It being the only topic a glance at the speaker could indicate to the Daeva. Unless the reeve is into sound systems?

Verity is always proud, back straight, shoulders set. But she preens a little under the praise of having done a good job with the outfit. 'It really does. That and Etsy have been doing me very well recently.' The hand craft site helped her add what she needed to make her outfits her own, not just off the shelf. 'Where do you shop for clothes Seneschal Hazleton?' Expecting anything other then Amazon.

"True, it's just not something that's often used as a topic to talk about. At least not that I know."

Well, music is kinda personal, so she can see why not everyone would discuss it. Or its just easier not to date themselves like that ? "But yes, the song."

"As in the opposite of expected. And yes, it would." Helen's not getting aggressive or impolite, but there is a measure of finality behind the words. Unless prying doesn't count as too bad ?

Helen stays out of the rest of the talk the two others have for now. Etsy and Amazon aren#t really things she's too familiar with. She knows what those are, that's about it.
