Circe had a pro and a con with her chosen solution to firepower. Pro, it was cheap and mostly reliable Soviet make. Con, it didn't mesh well with some of the attachments available out there now.

Hence why she had a mostly disassembled assault rifle with all her tools for working on. Hedgespun tool? Check. Workbench for holding in place? She needed the space! Gunsmith kit? Naturally. Coffee carafe? Ha, of course she'd has two and cookies for snacking.

Circe knew how to upgrade it for the latter part. It involved swapping out the stock housing and giving it a little upgrade. But if she was going to do that, she'd have to go all out. As is, she was only interested in a few minor improvements to be made to it. The handle maybe? Some paint to make it less likely to catch the light? Or more? Or chroming the internals to lower repair time?

Yeah, the first and the second sounded great to her. She'd work on the handle points, barrel and grip, after she had to wait fo the internals to dry.

It'd take a lot of work to chrome the interior mechanisms, but Circe was sure she could do. She'd learned quite a lot about this stuff. And she was cheating hard on the time it took too, the thought of this made her stick her tongue out with a smile.

That would make it so much easier to clean and maintain. The gun would be more forgiving about what was used inside. Except, it was a Soviet rifle known to work after being left in swaps. Eh, it cheap.

With those parts drying, Circe decided to swap the grip for something less ancient and old. Ergonomic? No, just custom fitted to her hands.

And a half more

That had taken quite a while. Now, what color should she paint it? Maybe a Robin Egg Blue? Tiger stripes? Shark? What time was it?

Circe finally checks and wow. Time for bed. She'd ask how to color the gun.
