(1902) Vivian and Lina

"Seneschal York," she replied with a nod of greeting. The file closed, and she put it down on the little table next to her. "My attention is very much on this gathering, particularly with the... politics of late. Please. Join me." Her hand gestured gently to the seat next to her.

Frankly, if it was about politics, she had no problem having that chat in open court. Hers was not a position of weakness, nor was Vivian York's.

"What can I do for you, ma'am?"

A pleased grin upon her lips, the Daeva sat down as quick as she was offered the seat. With the rise of Mekhet's in the city, there were some things she'd have to proceed with caution on.

"Mmhmm, I have a slight inkling of what you speak of. Anything of particular note that I should keep an eye on?"

Quickly pulling a small notepad out of her clutch, and a pen, she swiftly jotted a note down.

Keep an extra close eye on that Adam Exhibitionist chap.
He was sent from San Fran. and deeply interested in Lance's goods.
He's also quite a rude wanker toward women, or perhaps just myself.

Vivian handed it to Lina to read, and continued speaking. "Regarding politics, some have made quite the terrible judgement calls as of late."

Taking the note, Moretti glanced at it, then made a little 'hmm' and peered back up at the Seneschal. What had the Lance man done to piss York off? She really wasn't hard to get. Be polite. Don't be a creep. Really easy stuff.

"This is interesting. I'll bear it in mind. He disrespected my standing, and he'll be paying for it or finding his objectives deeply complicated."

As for the remainder, the Sheriff gave a sigh and wrote her own note back, holding it out in her hand open for the Seneschal to view.

Mable's Elysium violation; she's making amends. But Harpy backing her right after? Damaging the credibility of the office. Had to correct it. Nothing personal.

She watched as Lina read the note. Her little unspoken hmm was probably not a good sign. But what she said next made Vivian's eyes widen. "Really." She breathed in unnecessarily.

"So he has a pattern of disrespecting people. Not quite the way to try and make things successful around here, is it." Another note, jotted down on her pad again:

Oh he entirely insulted me and my intelligence.
It really ticked me off more than I thought it would.

Reading the notebook, and furrowing her brow. "That is unpleasant. I do agree, it's not personal at all. Hopefully the large bird will put it right, or something close to it."

It was good to keep abreast of these matters. Vivian really did her part by her acknowledgement, or keeping some of the book work in check.

The Sheriff nodded at the note after a long glance, a look of consideration writ upon her youthful face. She put her notebook away when the Seneschal finished reading her reply, leaning back into her seat.

"It'll all get solved, I'm sure. Both subjects." She flashed a smile. It wasn't warm, but it was a smile. "You need a thing done about it, or do you have it covered?"

She didn't know what Vivian had in mind, but she wasn't about to make an Elder of her Clan get her hands dirty.

Shaking her head. "No, someone volunteered to bring that one to the proper place. But the escort will be instructed to not surrender the keys until full approval is given."

Vivian popped her head a little. "We should get into some trouble of our own soon. The fun harmless kind." She winked to her cousin. "Like the bar type, or you could come to Smoke and Glass and we can have some fun there." Her finger rose in the air. "The staff are aware that I may come in for fun and frolicking from time to time and aren't to disturb me."

"Fair enough," she started, though she didn't exactly sound comfortable stopping there. "I... uh, should mention that unless it's you, Twist or the Prince, the consequences to anybody entering my Regency without the appropriate permission are likely to be significant. I'm led to understand that the thing he wants is in Florin, and there are dangers in Florin that are being carefully managed. So, if the fella wants to come into Florin, he can ask real nice, and I'll personally attend with him. The escort can come too. That's a conversation to be had later, once I'm less angry about it."

She smiled at the invitation, letting her mind drift off the unpleasant thoughts. "I'd be down for some fun and frolicking. Private room at Smoke and Glass? I liked it a lot at New Years."

Rebecca held a friendly smile as she approached the two predators. She found it interesting that the Seneschal, a woman who always seemed to hold Rebecca in esteem, made her Catalyst want to run in terror, while the woman who was usually Rebecca's ally made her Catalyst desire her death.

Just as Rebecca grew close she could hear discussion of Adam and his desire to enter Lina's Regency. "I had actually been the one who offered to accompany Mr. Exlibrist to Moore House, though I made it clear to him he would have to have your permission first. I would never dream of entering, or encouraging someone else to enter, your Regency without your express permission," she said, holding her friendly smile. Now was certainly not the time to assume she had it.

Nodding. "Yes, a private room. Cigars, spirits and the lot. I am happy to hear you had a good time at the New Years party, it seemed to be well received."

With the Harpy making her way to them, Vivian gave her a smile and a nod to follow. Rebecca's words were true, and the Daeva agreed. "Indeed, it was spoke of that he was to seek permission before anything would be done." Regarding what else Lina mentioned, it hadn't even occurred to her to venture into someone's Regency without mentioning it ahead of time.

But, Lina was adamant about this, so to her what her reply to the Harpy will be could be very interesting.

"Oh, you were to be the escort?" Moretti gave a simple nod. "Of course. That's no problem at all. Once he's... corrected his words with respect to my standing, I am sure he will find me a hospitable host." There was a set to the Sheriff's jaw that suggested she was displeased, but it was directed at the subject of her words, not at the Harpy or Seneschal.

She looked to the Harpy directly, considering her for a moment before speaking, as she did, quite directly. The Mable issue. It needed to be corrected.

"I'm going to address the elephant in the room directly, Harpy, rather than have us dance around it for a year. I'm fine with you. I'm not fine with what she did, and I'm not fine with her standing remaining as it is, and given that you're the only person of any rank supporting her in a sea of naysayers, that's a thing that you can fix. If you choose to address it, my concern will be addressed - and I'll tell the Dragons who were concerned about it that you heard them out, too. Her Majesty's Elysium deserves the utmost of respect."
