Gosh his subconscious is being smart tonight! He wasn't sure if it was the strange attack or creepy voice man, but Christian was starting to feel just a little giddy from the rush of all of it. And his heart was beating a mile a minute.
Christian skedaddles away from both the man and, assuming it hasn't hidden itself, the bobcat thing.

"Hey! Come back here!" He flips open his cell phone as he starts chasing you. The cat is now in front of him, but he doesn't seem to notice it. Regardless, its still chasing you, its bright white eyes glowing, following you like spotlights. You have to go faster.

Christian's out of the parking lot. He passes under the flickering street lights and slips into the measured breathing necessary to not trip and pass out, but his heart is beating a mile a minute, pumping an equal mix of fear and excitement through his veins. He's going as fast as he can, but it's not fast enough.
He cuts across the street, heading south.

Christian looks behind him, and the sees a reflection of the moon in a storefront mirror. He finds his gaze drawn upwards, looking at the moon obscured by its own shadow. and suddenly he's going faster, much faster. And he feels GREAT. Like a neck injection of heroin and speed great. It just feels different somehow. He feels lower to the ground, and his arms are getting used.

Wow, wow, WOW. He felt weird, charged even. And the wind felt great going over his back and through his hair, it was almost enough to keep the fear from totally overwhelming him. He splits his attention, looking down at his hands because he's not used to running with them and looking ahead so that he doesn't run into anything. He doesn't look back, in case that cat with the glowing eyes was about to pounce.

Well, that explains a few tings. Like why your palms feel scratched up. You have paws now. your nails click on the cement, and it feels like your paws are already callused.
"I said STOP." The guy behind you shouts, and then things get ugly.

That was the cliffsnotes version of what Christian was thinking. If someone could take the top of his head off and inscribe what he was thinking/feeling on, for example, a website for strangers to read, they would get something more like this:

Christian picks up a burst of speed, his paws getting bigger, his whole form getting larger. And now there is something in his chest, a sort of pressure. It feelis like someone has set off a grenade in slow motion. Something is going to have to give soon. Behind him, he hears a growl, and the sound of nails on cement, eerily similar to his own.

He's angry. He's scared. He's angry AND scared. The anger and fear is filling him up, like one of those blow up kiddie pools being pumped up by an air compressor that no one can figure out how to turn off and is about to scare all the two year olds at the party when it explodes. He tries to express how this feels by saying something, anything, but it comes out in an inhuman Glossolalia that sounds like something Christian heard once, possibly even very recently, but the anger and fear and the fact that his guts feel like they are on fire keep him from remembering. He can't even scream like a human being can and he has no clue how to do it like a whatever-he-is can.
