Sidor nodded his understanding to Conner, his shadowed face impassive. It didn't surprise him that he was being interrogated. After all, he had been Dirge's critic. Of course, he had done it for his clan; to try and protect them from what he believed was a mad woman trying to grab for power. That had been necessary.
If it meant being willing to open his mouth where others were too cowardly to do so, then so be it. He would not let this domain become yet another place where Nosferatu were a joke, persecuted for being a shameful reminder that the Beast was neither beautiful nor kind.
"Of course, Deputy Greyson. As you may be aware, I called a Nosferatu family meeting due to the absence and negligance of our Priscus; as Clan Whip, this is my responsibility. I arranged this as a meeting place for our privacy, and waited for my cousins outside. All save his Grace, Bishop Flores had arrived. We conversed briefly, and then, apparently, the Bishop arrived. He approached me, but did not speak when I greeted him. As he advanced, I saw that he was clutching at something I could not percieve, and noticed his eyes were filled with rage and violence. I realised he intended to attack me and summoned my Sorcery to defend myself. The Bird formed, and then he struck out at me," Sidor paused, jerking his jacket aside to show Conner the remnants of the healing puncture. "After that, he fled. Mr. Veres and Miss Lawrence pursued him down the ramp, and Dr. Powell dropped down from the upper level into the road to cut him off. Dr. Powell was impaled as the perpetrator fled. We could not keep up with his inhuman speed."
Sidor paused, clearly organising his thoughts so that there would be no misunderstanding.
"As for why I believe it to be Dirge. He used a spear. I have never known his Grace to wield a spear. Nor do I think that his Grace would flee before the presence of Theban Sorcery; I would expect a member of the Sanctified to recognise it for what it was. In addition, he never spoke, and only attacked those who had a vested interest in the Sanctified; myself, and Dr. Powell, who had expressed interest in coming to a Mass. Knowing that Dirge has a passionate dislike of me, and of the Sanctified, I came to the conclusion that it could not have been his Grace, and was instead an attack on the Lancea et Sanctum."
