Dusk watched as Durant and Starseeker bantered back and forth, she nodded when Starseeker spoke to her and replied.

    "Sure, no problem."

Dusk stretched and got up moving over by Matt, she looked at Faithkeeper and Gwen. Dusk hated being amongst those that quareled, she also knew you never spoke to Alpha's like that and so wanted to calm them both before things got out of hand.

"Sih Sehe Mak; Mak Neh Sih." The voice does not sound the least bit pleased. And the rather muscular african american man standing roughly six and a half feet tall who strides out of the shadows doesn't really look very happy either. Even in the dim light it's easy to see that he bears enough scars to do half a dozen werewolves proud. "And what you are, is low. Talking shit to the high doesn't show strength, it shows weakness and insecurity. And don't try to lecture me about your tribe, my packmate is twice the Iminir you are. So, Watch. Your. Mouth. And show the proper respect."

Gwen smiles warmly at Sally's approach. "Sally! It's been too long." She holds out a hand, offering a handshake to the younger Ithaeur, along with a respectful bow of the head. She makes it a walking handshake, however, covering the last few steps to the rest of the wolves.

She looks at Starseeker and, after a moment of consideration of the delicious, delicious snacks, she holds up her other hand, palm first. "Thanks, Starseeker, but no thanks." Even if her stomach was about this close to growling, and the smell was certainly not helping. Be strong, be strong, be strong. She answers the question once for both of them. "We're doing good. Never a dull moment in this town." And most can't handle it, apparently, she adds silently to herself. 'Never a dull moment' was, in and of itself, an understatement. "I hope your own families are doing well?" They had faced down the impossible together. Gwen wished them no harm. Good people all.

The... 'exchange'... between Starseeker and Durant goes largely ignored, though she looks at Durant, her eyes serious. She's tempted to let it all slide by, to say not a word. But alas, a part of her just can't. "I doubt he's trying to infuriate anyone. He's a-" But just as she's about to continue, the new arrival interrupts, and she stops. She turns her head, and nods at the man. He had this in hand. Don't they always?

Next, she turns her head to Dusk, and nods to her. "I'm Gwen. Alpha for the Sworn. It's a pleasure."

He turns to the new arrival.

"Im sorry? I dont recall having debased myself to name calling, despite having witnessed an insult to my Firstborn, so if Im low he disrespected me and my tribe first. Alas, the lecture wasnt for you, so, dont worry."

All spoken with the serenity of the sincere.

Dusk watched as a good looking man approached from the shadows, she did her best not to look as her mind wondered the road less traveled. Damn....i wonder if chocalate really melts in your mouth and not in your hand... Dusk did her best not to stare but alas she didn't give her a chance to not. When Gwen spoke, Dusk diverted her perverse train of thought and tried not to let it show and moved closer so she didn't make the Black Stallion uncomfortable by staring or drooling. Looking at Faithkeeper and Gwen, Dusk thought it was best to converse their way and not linger on her thoughts of forbidden Mandingo love.

"Dusk, Dusk River an Ithaeir of the Hirfathra Hissu. The Pleasure is all mine."

As hard as she tried, Dusk could not peel her eyes away from the new man who approached. It sort of bothered her and she slightly shuddered as her mind roamed over thought that were best left insaid or known but still she stole quick unnoticeable glances to her Black Stallion of thought.

Matt stood there just watching the new arrival dig himself into an even digger hole and was beginning to worry that the whole situation was close to getting out of hand. "StormWing" he begins by using the young man's deed name to hopefully cause his words to not be seen as an attack "I do not believe that Starseeker meant offense to the First Born of your tribe." Maybe to some of those who sought his patronage but a tribal totem could not be blamed for all of those who follow them. "I might just be a humble young Half Moon but I am sure that you would probably hate to lose sight of the reason you've come here tonight, to meet representatives from the packs of the city and find where you belong." His tone is calm, as calm and reasoned as the Cornell debater he'd once been.

"As I said before my pack is looking for someone with the skill set you possess, but this is a dangerous city and I want to do is learn a bit more about who you are before I trust the lives of my brothers and sister in your hands. That is not a comment on your skill, it's a reflection of the dangers we face on even a routine patrol. If you do this, I'll give you the opportunity to prove yourself to the rest of my pack." And if he acted up Alison would break him in half as part of her morning workout.

"It won't be easy, my Alpha has lost packmates to the battles of this city and almost been killed herself. She's earned the respect of the Uratha of this city and will work you day and night until you meet her standards. However if you're willing to put away any ego you might have and become part of a team, I'll introduce you to my brothers and sister." He remembers something. "I'll share something with you that was taught to me by a very wise Uratha of your Moon, "Respect is not a sign of weakness and only the weak expect it without offering it in return". Do you want a chance to work your ass off to prove that you are worthy of respect?"

Dusk listened as Matt speak, his wise words rang true with her and she was sure that is why Allison his Alpha had sent him. As Dusk stood around and waited for someone to speak with her, she avoided looking at the man who had stepped from the shadows and was emarrassed that her mind had drifted down the road not traveled. Feeling a tad sick, she figured she'd avoid him altogether and not embarrass herself with humiliation or grief but goodness, he was hot and easy on the eyes.

Sally does give a deeper bow to the Alpha as she shakes her hand. "It is very good to see you Gwen, congratulations on your ascension to Alpha." Sally turns to look to the Large werewolf come out from the Shadows. Sally did not recognize the man so she looked to her elders, Last and Starseeker, for guidance.

He nods to Matt. "That would be an honor." Then he'd look around. "I'll go seek a place to spend the night then, wish you all a good evening." His eyes meet Starseeker, "No hard feelings." He states before rising and going torwards his bike to finally depart.

Starseeker calls out to the Storm Lord as he leaves. "Sure, no hard feelings at all moron. It's not like I'm the one that's making a fool of himself in front of the assembled representatives of the packs of the city and shooting down any chance of joining them, after all." Luna picked every individual for a reason. Apparently this Durant's reason was to show all the other People how not to make a first impression.

Live and learn. Or die and teach others by example.

He turned back to Dusk. "So would you like to come with me? I could scrape up my fellows pretty quickly if you'd like to give us a shot. Or if there's any questions you'd like to ask me about us."
