"That's excellent news," Heathcliff nods. He mentally scolds himself for not taking the time to see the good doctor, knowing that this type of man wouldn't be sharing his research with the likes of him for free. Then he sees Mariel's entrance. Damn, that girl's good, he thinks, and doesn't even notice the grin on his face until it's already there. She sees him, but doesn't come to speak with him. Did she see the news? Has she put it together? He feels like he's had the wind knocked out of him, but from the inside. He takes a deep breath and turns to the Doctor.
"I won't keep you, Doctor, I'm sure you have others you need to speak with. You'll hear from me soon," he says and nods. [i]If I survive that long.[/] Heathcliff then makes his way to O-Yama and tries very hard to avoid looking over to see what Mariel was doing. Was she telling everyone what she had noticed about him when they met at Avalon? Were his lessons worth keeping that secret?
"Hello, Priscus O-Yama," he says and bows his head slightly in a show of respect. "It is good to see you again."
